Advanced Safety and User Experience encompasses our deep expertise in software, centralized computing platforms, advanced safety systems and automated driving focusing on five areas that are transforming mobility: Safety Electronics, Infotainment, User Experience, Autonomous Driving and Connectivity & Security.

We have an exciting opportunity for a North America Account Manager Security & Connectivity to work in Troy, MI (relocation offered within the USA). In this role, you'll be responsible for selling Connectivity & Security products to one or more of the major OEM's.

Responsibilities:

Develop Relationship of Major North America Customer:

  • Main interface to Customer Purchasing

  • Drive customer relationships at engineering working level and support senior level discussions

  • Develop customer power maps of key decision makers

Customer Strategy:

  • Proactively develop strategies to maintain and grow business

  • Understanding and influencing what drives economic value for the customer

  • Firm grasp of vehicle development life cycle and cadence of new platforms

  • Understanding of market share at customer

Maintain Current Book of Business:

  • Manage customer change requests via the PCE (Product Change Evaluation) process

  • Provide accurate volume forecasting (near term 1 - 18 months; and long term 5-year business plan)

  • Monitor and facilitate resolution of payment past dues

  • Seeking opportunities for cost/profit improvement

New Business Pursuit:

  • Deliver Booking Plan for Business Unit and forecast new opportunities

  • Lead team in pursuit strategies

  • Lead and establish firm quote offers to customers; provide cost breakdown

  • Negotiate price and business terms; bring sales to closure

  • Ability to gain comprehensive knowledge & experience with Aptiv's Product Development Process and Enterprise Operating System

  • Develop customer plan for sales meetings. Define goals for each stage within the sales cycle.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates for positions with Aptiv must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 + years of Sales experience with the Automotive industry

  • 3 + years technical experience

  • Bachelors' degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong presentation and communication skills (oral and written) for internal and external presentation.

  • Self-motivated and dependable individual who knows how to prioritize work and delivery quality and timely deliverables with limited management oversight

  • Decision making ability, with sound business acumen and clear understanding of the market and financial impact.

  • Structured thinker with ability to analyze data and draw recommendations / conclusions; confident in presenting recommendations.

  • Excellent command of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

About this Position The Chief Engineer, Autonomous Driving Software North America will spearhead our Autonomous Driving (AD) software development team for North America. The position is located in Troy, MI, and be responsible for supervising and leading all aspects in the development and execution of the AD software team. This leader will work in tight conjunction with the European AD software team and the Advanced Software (Core) development team, as well as the regional based application teams to provide production software solution that meet the automotive quality standard set forward. This role will represent Aptiv's Autonomous Driving Software development both to intern Aptiv Leadership team and to our customers. Responsibilities and Duties This highly-visible manager position will be responsible for the following: * Establish and lead a product-centric organization of 100+ software developers to support production-ready software for customer releases and commitments (workflow, resources, deliveries, validation, processes) * Lead and own the industrialization of the existing advanced AD software with regard to automotive quality standards (e.g. ASPICE) and embedded software resource limitations * Represent AD software development in front of Aptiv Leadership Team and Customers. * Champion the integration of the Agile process into the product line * Lead integration of Functional Safety and Cyber Security into production software and development process * Coordination and alignment between Advanced Development and Production Development projects * Manage the production software engineering budget for the business unit * Manages all aspects of software subcontractor selection and evaluation for customer application production software support * Drives engineering excellence throughout the organization; identify engineering quality/efficiency improvement opportunities and drive improvements to engineering standard work through their Engineer Group Manager (EGMs) or the Competencies.
