Advanced Safety and User Experience encompasses our deep expertise in software, centralized computing platforms, advanced safety systems and automated driving focusing on five areas that are transforming mobility: Safety Electronics, Infotainment, User Experience, Autonomous Driving and Connectivity & Security.

We have an exciting opportunity for a North America Account Manager Security & Connectivity to work in Troy, MI (relocation offered within the USA). In this role, you'll be responsible for selling Connectivity & Security products to one or more of the major OEM's.

Responsibilities:

Develop Relationship of Major North America Customer:

  • Main interface to Customer Purchasing

  • Drive customer relationships at engineering working level and support senior level discussions

  • Develop customer power maps of key decision makers

Customer Strategy:

  • Proactively develop strategies to maintain and grow business

  • Understanding and influencing what drives economic value for the customer

  • Firm grasp of vehicle development life cycle and cadence of new platforms

  • Understanding of market share at customer

Maintain Current Book of Business:

  • Manage customer change requests via the PCE (Product Change Evaluation) process

  • Provide accurate volume forecasting (near term 1 - 18 months; and long term 5-year business plan)

  • Monitor and facilitate resolution of payment past dues

  • Seeking opportunities for cost/profit improvement

New Business Pursuit:

  • Deliver Booking Plan for Business Unit and forecast new opportunities

  • Lead team in pursuit strategies

  • Lead and establish firm quote offers to customers; provide cost breakdown

  • Negotiate price and business terms; bring sales to closure

  • Ability to gain comprehensive knowledge & experience with Aptiv's Product Development Process and Enterprise Operating System

  • Develop customer plan for sales meetings. Define goals for each stage within the sales cycle.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Candidates for positions with Aptiv must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3 + years of Sales experience with the Automotive industry

  • 3 + years technical experience

  • Bachelors' degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong presentation and communication skills (oral and written) for internal and external presentation.

  • Self-motivated and dependable individual who knows how to prioritize work and delivery quality and timely deliverables with limited management oversight

  • Decision making ability, with sound business acumen and clear understanding of the market and financial impact.

  • Structured thinker with ability to analyze data and draw recommendations / conclusions; confident in presenting recommendations.

  • Excellent command of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

What you will be doing... As a member of TE Connectivity's Product Management Teams manage all aspects of a product, from driving new product development to manufacturing to marketing. They are responsible for overall product strategy, business leadership and capacity plans to meet sales and profit targets. To define and execute the product strategy of assigned product line. Manage the product portfolio, roadmap and P&L, driving plans to externally gain market share and internally improving profitability. As a Product Manager, a typical day may include: Strategy * Understanding and translate in internal actions the marketplace of assigned product line, stays current on customer needs, macroeconomic trends and potential M&A. * Leads competitive landscape analysis and generates strategic plans for market share gain. * Define both a short-term strategy to capture current market/revenue growth opportunities as well as a 5-10 year strategic vision for the product line. * Manage the product portfolio to streamline TE offer, taking advantage of market opportunities and improving margins. * Forecast and track sales and profits, proactively addressing issues and implementing actions to ensure revenue and margin target achievements. * Elaborate business case for new product projects and advocate on behalf of customers in the PACs. Technologies * Own the product roadmap and provides prioritized development guidance to the engineering organization. * Identify and execute on expanding our product portfolio in key strategic areas through new technologies. * Interfaces with customers in the development of specifications and technical refinements, which can be used to direct the development of new products or improvements to existing product. Sales & Marketing * Definition of industry focused data connectivity strategy based on customer, field application engineering and sales input * Identify breakthrough market trends and layout product roadmap to meet market expectations. * Define customer focused TE value proposition for strategic selling. * Coordinate communication with the sales organization to drive new product technologies in the market. * Define and execute pricing strategy for product portfolio, including compilation of competitive price points to manage upcoming price erosion in market. * Create and delivery technical product trainings and brochures, which will support Sales force and customer to understand the value proposal of our products. * Execute calendar of marketing activities including trade/exhibition shows and seminars. Operations * In partnership with value stream leaders work in specifics projects, including footprint optimization, to optimize resources and increase margins of assigned product line. * Facilitate with purchasing the development of a strong vendor base. * Continue to support relationships with key OEM and tier one industry customers, as well with the different department inside TE. What your background should look like... * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business required. MBA is a plus. * Minimum five years of experience working with a manufacturing or engineering organization required, preference in the automotive industry * Product management / development or new business development background a plus Nice to have * Strong understanding of data connectivity architecture in Transportation industry. * Strong knowledge in high speed data connectivity. * Strong business acumen & Strategic thinking. * Global work experience a plus * Fluent in English.
