Noon Hour Supervisor

LONG-TERM EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: 60 College Credit Hours Required

Work Experience: Elementary Education experience preferred, but not required

SKILLS:

• Ability to plan and effectively provide instruction to all students

• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

• Maintain the philosophy that all children can learn when provided with the appropriate instruction

• Willingness to individualize instruction to meet the needs of the students

• Ability to work collaboratively with others within a "team consensus" approach

• Ability to provide positive behavior intervention and supports in a consistent manner

• Ability to remain objective, calm and neutral when responding to student's inappropriate behaviors

• Ability to "actively observe and listen" to students and relate to them in a positive, supportive and reinforcing manner

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Participate in educational planning

• Maintain provided instructional programs, materials and supplies for classroom

• Demonstrate positive and prosocial instructional behaviors and techniques

• Demonstrate skills in preventing and teaching replacement behaviors with students

• Demonstrate classroom management skills

• Effectively communicate, consult, and team with parents and staff

• Maintain student records, as required

• Maintain contact with home regarding student progress and programming

• Complete assigned responsibilities within agreed upon or established timelines

• Adhere to Allegan Public Schools' policies and procedures

• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: April 22nd-May 31st, 2024
