BAE Systems is seeking an Intern to assist in logistics support for the US Navy's AEGIS Combat System (ACS) research and development, shipboard ACS modernization efforts, new construction, and Fleet support efforts, starting the summer of 2019. In order to be eligible for this 3-month internship, applicants must be enrolled in a 2 or 4-year institution and have completed their Sophomore year. This temporary position is applicable only to seasonal or summer hires.
The selected candidate will:
Apply basic knowledge of logistics principles in performing routine work assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
The job entails learning applicable ILS processes, methods, and philosophy and to participate in and assist Logistics Analysts with the review of material support requirements and management of over 23,000 types of parts.
Additionally, the candidate will:
Support a team leader to meet tasking objectives
Review warehousing/inventory Operating Material & Supplies (OM&S) transactions and update inventory records
Participate in OM&S inventory operations, including reviewing and analyzing stocking, and conducting inventories
Identifying and processing for expenditure excess materials and supporting special projects
Provide logistics support to keep on-site test equipment operational and available for use by the ACS Developer
Participate in ACS production reviews and analysis
Assist in preparation of reports and presentations
