Job Description:

North Orange County Community College District is now accepting applications for an Adjunct Instructor to teach for the Quality Assurance for Medical Devices Program at our North Orange Continuing Education campus in Anaheim. Adjunct faculty are hired in a part-time capacity on a semester-by-semester basis, contingent upon the needs of the school and student demand.

The instructor is responsible for providing meaningful quality instruction and workforce preparation to students that meet the program and course objectives. The Adjunct Faculty will teach a variety of Career Technical Education (CTE ) classes covered in the Quality Assurance for Medical Devices Certificate Program. This includes, but is not limited to the following topics: laws governing the development, manufacturing, and approval of medical devices; document control and database management; methods, tools, and concepts of quality and design control; technical writing for the bio medical industry, and quality audits.

Primary Purpose:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree; AND two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught

OR

Associate degree; AND six years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught

OR

Possession of a full-time, clear California Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential authorizing instruction in the subject matter

ORFor courses in an occupation for which the district offers or has offered apprenticeship instruction, the minimum qualifications for noncredit apprenticeship instructors in that occupation, as specified in title 5 section 53413.

Desirable Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in the related subject and minimum two years experience in quality assurance for medical devices.

Experience teaching adult students from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and varying levels of proficiency.

A working knowledge of, and experience with, student learning outcomes and assessment.

Demonstrated success in helping students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, nontraditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.

Special Instructions Summary: This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified.

This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
