Non-Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Aerospace Engineering

The Department of Aerospace, Physics and Space Sciences (APSS) at the Florida Institute of Technology invites applications for a non-tenure-track Instructional Faculty in the Aerospace Engineering program with an expected start date of August 2024.

Successful candidates must have a commitment to teaching excellence at undergraduate and graduate levels and contribute to the institution and profession through service. This is an instructional track position which does not have a research requirement.

A Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering or a closely related field is required for consideration. The successful applicant will be expected to teach a minimum of three courses per semester, including capstone design courses, and advise students. Candidates should have a strong background in an area of aerospace engineering (aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, dynamics & control, or air/space vehicle design) and contribute to digital (simulation-based) engineering focus of the Department. Industry work experience related to aerospace vehicles would be considered favorably.

The department has 33 faculty members representing diverse fields, including aerospace engineering, physics, astrophysics, astronomy, astrobiology, and planetary sciences. The APSS department currently serves over 600 undergraduate and 120 graduate students, of which approximately 430 undergraduate and 80 graduate students are aerospace engineering majors, making the Aerospace Engineering program one of the largest on campus.

Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

Florida Tech's 2023 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public properly within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.

The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.
