The Superintendent invites qualified and interested persons to apply for the position of Non-Instructional Special Assistant.
DEFINITION: Under general direction, the Non-Instructional Special Assistant provides ongoing, direct and advisory support to the Office of the Superintendent. The Non-Instructional Special Assistant addresses and assists in coordinating District activities and matters; interfaces with the District's internal and external constituent stakeholders on behalf of the Office of the Superintendent, and assists in the work of the Office of the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university; Master's Degree preferred.
Five (5) or more years administrative experience.
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in assessing educational, financial and managerial needs of the schools and departments.
Assists in planning and implementing staff development and transferring of skills to principals, teachers, and other staff.
Provides technical assistance to staff, as needed.
Clearly communicates information between principals/schools and Central Office.
Proactively identifies and implements processes to achieve the goals of the position as determined the Superintendent.
Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the practices and theories of education program and school district management.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Central Office teams and on-site school personnel.
Ability to prepare clear, concise correspondence and reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations on education program and school district management issues.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
REPORTS TO: Superintendent
SALARY, EMPLOYMENT PERIOD AND UNION AFFILIATION:
Salary: Commensurate with experience, education and certificate.
Employment Period: Twelve (12) Months
