THE PROJECT:

GC-PRO (Genetic Counseling Processes Result in Outcomes) is a large, multi-site research study examining the process of genetic counseling. The researchers are attempting to identify the aspects of genetic counseling sessions that contribute to positive outcomes and experiences for patients.

The study involves collecting surveys from patients who will be meeting with a genetic counselor for cancer, heart disease, or prenatal/reproductive care, and audio recording their genetic counseling session. By studying genetic counseling processes in real clinic settings, our goal is to better understand efficient, quality genetic counseling care.
