Segra is searching for a dynamic and experienced NOC Engineer II to work within our Waynesboro, VA market.
Role Overview:
This position will provide support, training, escalation assistance and work projects related to supporting all functions of a repair environment. As a NOC Engineer II you will assist in monitoring and management of all Segra core, distribution, and carrier last mile and customer premise voice and data services across Segra's network. The NOC Engineer II is responsible for researching and documenting various mitigation strategies and must maintain current knowledge of deployed technologies and their significance the operation of the network and support of all customers. The NOC Engineer II must be able to prioritize remediation of issues in a 24 x 7 network operations center. Perform system administration tasks such as network/system troubleshooting, patching, and utilizing scripts to automate repeatable tasks. In addition to network surveillance and management responsibilities, the NOC function also serves as an escalation point from other organizations and analysts within the NOC. The NOC Engineer II will routinely work more in-depth troubles involving the Segra network and the services riding that network. A NOC Engineer II could be called upon to perform training for the NOC organization as well.
Required Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree or bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Vendor certifications preferred but not required (BTI, Cisco, CIena Adtran, Alcatel-Lucent, Fortinet, VeloCloud, etc.
Professional level engineering experience, or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required
