Because the quality of justice in America should not depend on how much money a person has, National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) leads public defenders, community advocates, and civil attorneys to advance justice and expand opportunity for all by promoting excellent delivery of legal services for people who cannot afford counsel. NLADA's AmeriCorps VISTA program, Defending Communities in Service, builds sustainable community relationships, data systems, and practices that allow public defender offices to more holistically support communities in need.

This position partners with the Moran Center with ensuring that a child deserves justice in the courtroom, access to the classroom, and restoration in their community, the James B. Moran Center for Youth Advocacy (Moran Center) Further help on this page can be found by clicking here.

Member Duties : The Moran Center seeks a VISTA to assist in project management on various operations projects. These projects include assisting in the data-driven expansion of our web presence and the construction of more streamlined, best-practice models for service delivery strategy and program assessments.

This work will require a commitment to assist senior staff managing data and website/communications operations to develop protocols and oversee project implementation, working with vendors and consultants to ensure sustainable policies are built utilizing best practices in search engine optimization, website accessibility, data stewardship, and more. The VISTA will be tasked with coordinating a website and media strategy redesign and supporting the development of new data entry and reporting procedures, as well as supporting the development of training on these policies for staff and volunteers.
