The qualified applicant will become part of Space Launch System (SLS) program, located in Huntsville, Alabama. The position will be full time on site at the Huntsville location.Responsibilities:
The Engineer will perform system engineering activities from system level to component level.
The candidate will apply standard system engineering practices to plan and execute system engineering activities within System Engineering and Integration Group.
Support requirement development and verification efforts.
Support disposition of deviations and waivers.
Support real-time problem resolution of issues encountered during the product lifecycle. Work with Responsible Engineers, customer technical staff, suppliers, and SLS teammates to ensure planning is technically sound and appropriate data will be gathered to support closure activities.
Basic Qualifications (Requirements):
This position requires the ability to obtain a Customer/NASA background check for which requires US Citizenship.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics.
The successful applicant must have strong communication skills, and are capable of working in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple activates concurrently.
The applicant must be capable of working with minimal supervision.
Assets (Preferred):
Experience reviewing and writing verification artifacts.
Knowledge of developing requirements using system analysis
Experience working NASA Programs
Familiarity with common requirement database tools (like DOORs).
Typical Education / Experience: Degree and typical experience in system engineering: Bachelor's and 3 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics. Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
