Leidos is seeking a NJUNS (National Joint Utilities Notification System) Specialist to work out of our Framingham, MA office.

This role has the potential to be remote for someone in New York, with the right experience.

  • Duties will include:

  • Reviewing National Grid's sharepoint of NJUNS tickets and confirming the tickets listed are active and in correct standing

  • Using National Grid's GIS system as well as Leidos' proprietary data collection software to properly fill out all info on NJUNS tickets

  • Creation of National Grid work packages when they are have the next action in which a construction crew must perform work. This includes putting a design together in the GIS system, creating a bill of material, creating any associated paperwork required (dig safe, environmental permitting, etc.), and delivering the package to National Grid.

  • Opportunity to grow into more distribution design which include 3rd party attachers, inspection & maintenance, grid modernization, and capital project work

  • Ability to work in both a field and office setting,

  • Performing structural analysis, guying calcs, and calculations of electric demand

  • Local customer/job related travel is anticipated and will be reimbursed at IRS approved rates

  • Background qualifications:

  • Relevant utility experience in the distribution or communication space

  • Well versed in NJUNS. Creating, identifying, addressing, and closing out tickets as well as navigation of the site

  • Reliable transportation

  • Nice to haves:

  • Associates or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

  • Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Experience with distribution engineering design, specifically joint use engineering for utility pole communication attachments.

  • Knowledge of upstate New York telephone companies and 3rd party attachers

  • Experience providing estimated costs, development of a BOM, calculating the CIAC

  • Experience with design tools such as OCALC, Spida-Calc

  • Experience using MicroStation--performing Electrical Distribution design

  • Experience with design standards

Pay Range:

Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00
