  • Provide security and safety for guests, employees and venue

  • Abide by all state and federal law while enforcing hotel and venue policy

  • Greet guests in a positive, friendly manner, and exemplifying MGM SHOW standards

  • Actively market venue; which includes participating in marketing requirements and outings, including but not limited to:

  • Assist in developing restaurant database through networking and completing data cards

  • Build and establish personal clientele list

  • Weekly table reservations

  • (3) to (4) organic posts to one of the following social platforms with information provided by the marketing team: Facebook, Instagram, and Instagram Stories

  • Sharing of venues Facebook posts onto their own channels for branding and awareness

  • Posting and engaging (liking and commenting) with the venue's social media posts, as well as engaging with review sites, such as Yelp

  • Administer first aid and assist injured guests and employees

  • Maintain current knowledge of authorities to contact in the event of specific situations

  • Use professionalism in responses to all levels of situations that arise

  • Be alert and vigilant of any suspicious guests or activity

  • Escort guests or employees out of the venue as needed

  • Provide detailed incident reports whenever issues arise with guests or employees

  • Report safety concerns as they arise

  • Control the flow of guests coming into the restaurant, bar and lounge

  • Perform all opening and closing duties, based upon shift assignment

  • Communicate with management and service team to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests or other employees

  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Security Officer/Guard in similar, high-volume bar or nightclub establishment

  • Effectively communicate in English, both oral and written forms

  • At least 21 years old


  • Previous marketing experience

  • Previous experience in a similar resort environment

  • Previous experience using social media platforms, especially with utilization for branding and/or marketing

  • Bilingual, with English as primary or secondary language


  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

  • Gaming registration as required by the state of Maryland


  • Ability to work as a part of a team in a high-stress and high-volume environment

  • Ability to work in and adapt to a dynamic and frequently changing environment

  • Ability to adhere to and execute established department policies and procedures

  • Extensive knowledge of spirits, wine, and food

  • Effective listening skills

  • Possess strong judgement skills

  • Ability to work under pressure while being able to pay attention to details

  • Basic math skills

  • Basic computer and reservation software skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to maintain professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance, adhering to department and company standards

  • Indoor working conditions with hot and cold surfaces, steam, and wet floors

  • Varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

  • Moderate to high noise levels

  • Physically able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds on a tray or arm service where it applies.

  • Physically able to walk or stand without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period.

The Management Associate Program (MAP) extends recent college graduates the opportunity to apply their academic learning, and prior internship experiences, to a management career with MGM Resorts International. Management Associates will gain leadership experience in various departments and develop a well-rounded understanding of MGM Resorts International's operations. During the 12-month program, Associates will collaborate with line level experts and top executives to develop and demonstrate leadership capabilities. This will include, but not be limited to, management of projects, resources and timelines sometimes with a large degree of creativity and under minimal supervision. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Engage in self-directed work based upon personalized learning plans specifically aligned to goals and development opportunities in chosen area of concentration * Lead specific projects and manage teams/shifts during structured departmental rotations * Collaborate with Company leaders and partner with operational experts during formal learning sessions * Provide insight and recommendations to both line level experts and Company executives for operational enhancements in chosen area of concentration * Research, develop and contribute enterprise-wide continuous improvement strategies, through participation in the Capstone Project, to improve operational efficiencies and support long-term business objectives * Provide consultation to management in the formulation and implementation of continuous improvement operating strategies * Plan, research and execute on Board mandated Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives * Align Company operations with CSR obligations through participation in Project Homeless Connect * Other job-related duties as requested SUPERVISION: * Leading and mentoring teams as determined by structured rotation and curriculum requirements in chosen area of concentration MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * Current Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis * Must be at least 21 years of age prior to the program start date in July 2019 * Successful completion of a bachelor's or master's degree at an accredited university prior to the start of the Management Associate Program * Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a United States 4.0 scale * Previous related work and/or internship experience * Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms PREFERRED: * Previous experience working in a hospitality industry CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: * Must be able to obtain a gaming card, food handler's card, or other certificates and licenses on-own if required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * Ability to think critically and problem solve in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment * Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team * Prior experience in exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance * Organizational skills including managing projects, timelines and resources * Ability to influence others and work in a matrix organization * Excellent customer service skills * Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts * Ability to effectively communicate in English, in both oral and written forms * Ability to work collaboratively as a team player, and possess very strong presentation and interpersonal skills * Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook WORKING CONDITIONS: MGM Resorts Las Vegas NV
