REPORTS TO: Foreman/Vice-President/President
HOURS:
Monday - Friday 2:00PM - 11:30PM
Overtime and weekend required based on business needs
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Night Shift Supervisor oversees the evening operation of the Shipyard and supervises the teams responsible for the welding, fabrication, and erection associated with building cruise ships. An aggressive work ethic with a focus on production is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TASKS:
Must Have 3-5 years of Supervisor Experience in Steel Trades.
Must have working knowledge of tack welding with stick and semi-automatic welding equipment.
Follow instructions from foreman.
Ability to apply basic math.
Operate hand-held powered equipment and manual tools (i.e. plasma torches).
Practice proper safety & always keep job site clean.
Erect the frames, beams, longitudinal and stiffening members that are the core structures of cruise ships.
Install structural outfit items, doors, ladders, foundations.
Complete lay outs using drawings and/or templates.
Assign duties to workers and establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
Able to inspect any work and ensure that it will meet all QA Standards.
Demonstrate layout proficiency.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE:
Experience with shop and field fabrication, assembly sequencing and fitting.
Experience reading and understanding blueprints, sketches, and templates.
Safe use of all tools and equipment.
Knowledge of crane hand signals.
Familiar with the operation of heavy machinery.
