Summary Description:

The Night Security Manager is responsible for creating and fostering a safe environment which includes responding to a wide variety of requests in a timely and professional manner. The overnight position is expected to maintain a secure building by monitoring and patrolling internal and external activity, act as first responder in medical emergencies and ensure that minor building maintenance is handled quickly and efficiently to eliminate facilities emergencies.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs job functions in a manner consistent with the mission and goals of the Loomis Communities. Adheres to The Loomis Communities Compliance and Ethics Program.

  • Demonstrates an awareness of, a respect for and attention to the diversity of the people with whom they interact (persons served, personnel, families/caregivers, and other stakeholders) that is reflected in attitude, behavior and service.

  • Assists residents and their guests in a courteous and efficient manner; and plays a vital role in ensuring the overall resident satisfaction. The Night Manager helps residents get timely resolution on housekeeping and maintenance issues. Serves as First Responder to the emergency call system for independent living and responds quickly in case of an emergency.

  • Remains alert to ensure the safety and security of the community, by being aware and knowledgeable about who is entering and exiting the property; and ensures non-residents (e.g. guests, tradesmen, deliverymen or others) are approved by the resident or the management office. Maintain access control of premises and monitors entrances and exits. Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities. Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates. Complete shift security log.

  • General maintenance, orderliness, and cleanliness to ensure the facilities and equipment in the building are in good working order at all times. Conducts daily routine work orders as Facilities Director assigns. Makes minor electrical and plumbing repairs, knows how to locate and shut off electrical panels, sprinkler system, valves, and apartment plumbing. Reports concerns to Facilities Director and completes work orders in Worxhub.

  • Answer telephone calls to take messages, answer questions, and provide information during non-business hours. Provides administrative responsibilities, such as keeping records of resident vehicles, phone numbers, deliveries, frequent guests, preferences and local maintenance and service providers. Provides administrative support to Administrative Assistant and Executive Director as needed

  • Maintains pride in the property's maintenance and appearance needs, by ensuring lobby and public areas are neat and orderly. Maintains a professional, courteous and calm demeanor in an active area. Greets visitors, residents and vendors in a timely and professional manner. Completes daily tasks, locks/unlocks doors, close/open draperies/blinds, turns on/off lights at appropriate times.

  • Assists with training and guiding new security personnel in acclimating to the operations of The Loomis Communities.

Qualifications

Preferred Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Experience

  • 1-3 years of security experience
  • 1-3 years of unskilled maintenance experience: Must have experience in plumbing, carpentry, operating snow removal equipment and light electrical

License(s) (Required/Preferred)

  • CPR Certification - Must be certified and capable of performing CPR, provide First Aid and operate an AED as needed.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate and interact with clients and customers.

  • Must be available to work all shifts to address the needs of the site 24 × 7.

  • Must meet performance standards including attendance and punctuality.

  • Ability to report to work regularly and promptly.

  • Ability to work beyond normal hours when necessary.

  • Excellent customer service skills and effective phone communication skills.
