Summary:

In the Night Dispatch Clerk role, you will maintain accurate computer dispatch and scheduling records to ensure smooth and accurate communication flow. You will report directly to our Nightshift Warehouse Manager at our Louisa, KY location. You will be an essential part of our team that has been servicing customers and delivering fine foods since 1942.

Role and Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate computer dispatch and scheduling records to ensure smooth and accurate communication flow.

• Ensure the driver has all paperwork and load info necessary to complete their load satisfying both customer expectations and HOS regulations.

• Maintain a respectful attitude when dealing with drivers, co-workers, potential customers, to help foster existing relationships and build new ones.

• Coordinate with drivers and ensure timely pick-up and delivery of goods

• Utilize fleet management software to track vehicles and monitor routes

• Communicate with customers to provide updates on delivery status

• Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transportation

• Maintain accurate records of all dispatch activities, including data entry into the system

• Collaborate with other departments, such as shipping and receiving, to ensure efficient operations

• Proven experience as a Dispatcher or in a similar role

• Knowledge of transportation management systems

• Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

• Resolve service issues and provide customer service to internal and external customers.

• Handle incoming calls, e-mails, and customer issues that have been received from the Customer

• Troubleshoot and resolve potential delivery and/or pick-up problems before they result in a service issue.

• Gather and maintain route sheet documentation for pick-ups (scheduled, missed, extra pick-ups) route completions, and driver locations.

• Ensure route completion via the driver check-in process.

• Report and document driver performance issues, concerns, or disputes to appropriate management for resolution.

• Communicate with maintenance shop personnel and serve as an emergency point of contact.

• Follow all required safety policies and procedures.

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
