Score, and is a top three entertainment news network. We are also preparing for the launch of an ET-branded streaming network in 2018.
We're looking for a Night Assignment Editor with excellent news judgment and an unmistakable sense of urgency to beat the competition. The schedule for this position is Sunday-Thursday 2-11 p.m. PT.

An experienced editor who loves pop culture, celebrity and entertainment news and thrives in an environment that requires both speed and accuracy.
An individual who makes fast, confident choices based on both data and good news judgment about prioritizing stories and beating our competition.
An individual who can work with our online team, show producers and the newsdesk to find, develop and pursue original reporting and advance ongoing stories, and to help determine when there is enough information to move forward for publication.
A confident leader who can give constructive feedback to both staff and freelance writers that helps them improve and increase their skills.
A savvy interpreter of audience data and analytics (Chartbeat, Brightcove, etc.) to guide both story selection and measure success, plus the ability to conduct post-mortem assessments to continually improve and strengthen our competitive positioning.
Assess and prioritize a story budget, including exclusive or breaking news, night shoots, short features, or other story types.
Provide coverage continuity during the critical evening PST time period as we transition our 24/7 coverage from our daytime teams in New York and Burbank to our overnight London team.
Clearly assign writers news and short feature stories, then assist in copy editing and fact-checking all drafts.
Communicate and work closely with other editorial, video and social leads, as well as the newsdesk.
Accept and quickly execute general writing or reporting assignments or take on assignments yourself when most expedient.
Work with our legal team and show producers to address and appropriately resolve any concerns about copy.
Help maintain a consistent brand tone and style in copy.
Occasionally read scripts for video production and edit for clarity, accuracy and consistency with editorial coverage.
Occasionally post to Facebook and Twitter as a backup for our social media team.
We're committed to working hard and holding ourselves accountable as we continue to improve the editorial side of ETonline as we cover breaking news and the tentpole events of the year in the entertainment industry: awards season, summer movie season and fall TV premiere season.
Making fast, confident choices based on both data and good news judgment about prioritizing stories and beating our competition on both a daily and long-term basis.
Working with staff and freelance writers on both a local and remote basis to ensure accuracy and consistent brand tone in their stories.
Working with the Business Intelligence team and utilizing their reporting data and dashboards to guide both story selection and measure success, plus the ability to conduct post-mortem assessments to continually improve and strengthen our competitive positioning.
In 2018, CBSi plans to launch an ET-branded streaming network. ETonline staff will be deeply involved in developing, producing and distributing content for and from that platform.
What you bring to the team:
5-10 years of managing, editing and/or digital writing/reporting experience
Digital newsroom experience
Love of pop culture
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Willingness to work evening hours
