Job Description:

The NICU Milk Technician works closely with the registered dietitian and registered nurse in the NICU. The incumbent is responsible for the preparation, labeling, storage and delivery of human milk and other formula additives required for infant feedings. The technician is also responsible for operating equipment and ordering supplies required to prepare infant feeding.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience as CNA, Dietary Aide or Technician, or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to accurately measure, weigh formula and additives, and calculate recipes

  • Strong affinity to patient safety and attention to detail

  • Good communication skills

Preferred

  • Associates degree in Dietetics (DTR) or Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics

  • Experience as milk technician

  • Registration as Dietetic Technician Human Milk/Formula Technician Certification

  • Microsoft Excel skills

  • Infection control knowledge

  • Aseptic technique knowledge

Must be available the first week of employment from 8am - 4:30pm for orientation
