The Nickel Engineer/Geologist will work closely with our tight-knit and creative team of mining engineers to analyse oil & gas operations around the globe and provide the latest insights to our clients in the most inspired way possible.

Responsibilities and Duties Harnessing your robust technical knowledge to perform in-depth project assessments Writing captivating reports Delivering credible and insightful analysis Critically appraising projects and contributing to market analysis Building and refining in-house engineering models Qualifications and Skills 1+ years of experience in the Nickel/Resources industry Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Geology Excellent written and verbal communication skills Some exposure to site-based technical studies would be an advantage Ability to present information in formal or informal settings to all levels of an organisation A genuine interest in the commercial side of the sector Asian language skills would be highly regarded Location This role is based in the Sydney CBD.

The position will support field sampling and reporting for environmental remediation projects for both Private and Federal sector clients. We seek a technically proficient individual with the ability to organize data in a clear fashion using basic tools (spreadsheets, graphs) and the desire to learn and apply new tools, models, and methods. Primary Job Activities: * Plans, executes, analyzes and reports on a variety of environmental programs. * Applies standard field practices and techniques using basic field equipment to collect samples of soil, groundwater, soil gas, surface water, sediment, and potable water. * Applies knowledge of natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology, hydrology, and mathematics) to explain observations. * Gathers and interprets data and other information to be used in the preparation of scientific reports, compiles and organizes environmental data collected by others. * Perform remedial system operation and maintenance activities of existing and newly installed systems. * Possess the ability to read and interrupt technical drawings and specifications. * Leads field activities including soil logging, monitoring well installation, sampling, and hydrogeological testing. * Review analytical data for general indicators of quality for routine analyses based on well-defined guidelines. * Prepare and/or maintain project databases. * Provide support in the preparation of proposals (both technical and cost). * Task management experience is desired. Additional information: * Relocation assistance is not available for this position * Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and background. IND-NEG Minimum Requirements * Bachelors degree in geology, engineering, or environmental scientist degree from an accredited university or Vocational/Technical school; * or Associates degree and at least 2 years of job-related experience or equivalent. * Must have a valid driver's license * Must be able to oversee and work productively with subcontractors while assuring work scopes and safety requirements are met. * Must understand and follow project-specific safety protocols and will be expected to perform their duties in accordance with company policies & procedures. * Must be able to write and convey thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner * OSHA 40-Hour Training will be required but is not mandatory that the applicant have this training; the company will provide training if necessary. * Must have the ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen * Position will include periodic overnight travel. * Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be US Citizen. Preferred Qualifications * The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in the environmental remediation and/or environmental engineering field, preferably on hazardous waste sites. * Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.) is a plus.
