Position Specific Responsibilities
The NIAR Advanced Machining and Prototyping (AMP) lab is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our team. The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) is responsible for all activities performed by AMP employees in the Quality Assurance department. The QAM is responsible for managing the QMS. The QAM is responsible for all onboarding training related to the QMS and the AS9100 standard. The QAM is also responsible for performing periodic internal audits of AMP.
Summary of Responsibilities
Manages the quality programs and ensures a systematic, integrated, and consistent approach is used for quality measurement and improvement. Promotes quality awareness in internal and external partners. Provides direction and guidance for the long-term approach to quality, taking into consideration market trends, the latest techniques in quality improvement, standards, and legislation. Ensures that all requirements set by accreditation bodies are maintained.
Essential Functions
Ensures a systematic, integrated and consistent approach is used to measure quality and improvement of the department using an effective self-evaluation, feedback, and improvement based on quantitative information that is objective and reliable.
Manages programs leading to recognition under national and international quality programs and promotes quality awareness in customers, suppliers, and employees.
Oversees development of databases, measuring quality, selecting methods for continuous improvement, training and motivation of employees, and promoting quality awareness outside the company.
Creates and maintains policies and procedures related to quality.
Establishes quality goals and coordinates plans to achieve them.
Establishes and maintains a training program for employees.
Ensures that all requirements set by related regulatory agencies and accreditation bodies are maintained.

Requirements
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree in related field by hire date
Preferred Education
Minimum Experience
Two (2) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Experience
Five (5) years' experience in Quality Assurance or related fields.
Two (2) years' experience as a Quality Assurance Manager or equivalent position.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to manage Quality Management System.
Ability to conduct internal audits of department.
Ability to review processes, identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
Ability to conduct QMS onboarding training for new employees.
Ability to oversee processing and disposal of NCR.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines.
