WOIO-WUAB are the CBS and CW Affiliates in Cleveland, Ohio. We produce 48.5 hours of news per week

and deliver content on a 24/7 basis on our digital platforms.

JOB SUMMARY

WOIO is seeking a Morning Anchor/Reporter.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Anchor live newscasts as assigned and assist in the production and writing of the broadcasts according to station's First, Fair, Everywhere brand, format and direction. Ideal candidate will be community oriented, engaged in social media and supportive of our daily digital media goals.

  • Must be enthusiastic about field anchoring and Breaking News reporting.

  • Must be able to research, produce and report promotable stories with minimal supervision.

  • Must generate viable and original story ideas on a daily basis.

  • Must have proven track record of supporting team members, being receptive to feedback and remaining calm

in the face of challenge and change.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members in the pursuit of excellence.

  • Other duties as assigned by news management, including writing and editing media for all platforms.

Requirements

Minimum three (3) years experience as a broadcast news anchor and reporter at a commercial TV station. Knowledge of the Cleveland area preferred. Must demonstrate strong presentation skills on all platforms, strong writing and the ability to create hard hitting content with an edgy style. Must be able to work collaboratively under pressure. Must be team-oriented and level-headed.

Drug screen and MVR check required.

General Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to investigate and deliver edgy, in-depth and highly promotable stories on a daily basis. Must be capable of tackling complex content under intense deadline pressure. Must be highly skillful in the research, writing, shooting, editing and posting of content to all platforms. Must be comfortable working solo or in partnership with others in the field. Must understand all libel and defamation laws in the context of delivering hard-hitting content in a responsible manner. Must embrace live reporting. Requirements Minimum three (3) years experience, investigative preferred. Experience with newsroom computer systems Preferred, as well as Edius, ENPS.
