Role Summary:

This role is part of the healthcare engineering team, supporting new healthcare development projects. The purpose of this role is to manage new product introductions from the prototype phase through production tool commercialization. This role will work closely with the commercial team, customer service, design engineers, tool engineers, mold shop, process engineers, production, and quality in the early phases of product development for (New Product Introduction) NPI. This role will be customer-facing, providing direct support to the commercial team. This role will provide guidance to development projects, monitor progress, communicate internally and externally regarding key deliverables, and proactively address issues.

Accountable to:

  • Provide input during the design review stage to improve the manufacturability of our parts.

  • Lead new commercial tool introductions and oversee the process from start to finish. Lead process development of the thermoforming process through parameter optimization, DOE experiments, and trials that will lead to a robust and repeatable process for healthcare tools.

  • Provide daily technical support, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and process control support for healthcare production teams.

  • Work closely with production and quality on initial tool debugging, followed by process validation and establishing the optimal forming/trimming window and setting processing specifications.

  • Utilize SPC methods and data analysis to drive process engineering work.

  • Study and recommend changes to processes, manufacturing methods, and tooling to improve the process window for jobs.

  • Determine best practices to reduce downtime and costly quality issues.

  • Work closely with engineering, sales, quality, and shop to ensure parts meet customer specifications.

  • Keep commitments; exhibits candor and courage - is not afraid to establish a visible presence and point of view, to engage in spirited and constructive debate, to hold others accountable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering/industrial technology or related field is preferred.

  • 2-3 years of hands-on industry experience to become familiar with a broad range of packaging methods and techniques.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Attention to detail is crucial.

  • Must model the highest degree of moral and ethical behavior.

  • Ability and willingness to work up to 80% of the time on the manufacturing floor to help determine and correct issues, improve processes and create or maintain successful programs

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong project management skills

  • Proficiency with SPC and data analysis

  • Proficiency with Solid works design software

  • Thermoforming and mold-making experience

  • Highly organized in a fast-paced ever-changing environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization as well as directly with customers. This includes interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.

  • Experience with tooling and a strong understanding of materials and their properties.
