Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
4 years or more of practical industry experience
Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency with CAD design software
Solid grasp of mechanical engineering concepts and methods
Proficiency with laboratory debugging tools
Basic electronics skills and familiarity with cabling and looms
Ability to thrive in a small multidisciplinary group and collaborate with international colleagues
Familiarity with optics and opto-mechanical assemblies
Experience with CREO CoCreate or Siemens NX

Perform CAD design of parts and assemblies for prototype spectroscopic instruments
Create drawings, procure parts and work with vendors for fabrication
Assemble and troubleshoot your designs in the lab
Collaborate with hardware quality engineers to meet regulatory and safety requirements
Document designs and develop work instructions and best practices with manufacturing partners
Continuously improve designs for performance, robustness, and ease of manufacturing and service
Create, design, and procure electrical looms and debug minor electrical problems
Troubleshoot and adapt to new issues as they are discovered in our lab and by customers
