About the Role - You will:

  • Work with Manufacturing engineering to improve processes.

  • Perform time studies as needed.

  • PO management for all tooling and material outside of the scope of machine.

  • Update Task and work orders in Visual Factory (MES).

  • Validate build process for New Products.

  • Work with Engineering during C sample to understand variation.

  • Help manage process changes on the line.

  • Implement and maintain tests that ensure quality and functionality of battery packs.

  • Prepare and deliver build documentation to the production floor under strict deadlines.

  • Troubleshoot battery production equipment when necessary.

  • Focus on continuous improvement implementation in your area of responsibility.

  • Drive and implement continuous improvement ideas.

  • Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of controls, testing technology, and practices.

  • Train production operators when needed.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • This position will be part of the New Product Introduction (NPI) Team that supports Proterra's Battery Manufacturing and Engineering operations in Greenville, SC.

  • You will report to the NPI Lead Managerand collaborate with other Engineering team members located at our headquarters in Burlingame, CA and manufacturing facilities in Greer, SC

Your Experience Includes:

  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to perform failure investigation independently.

  • Good analytical skills and communicate effectively with all levels.

  • Proficient with MS Office applications

  • Experience with manufacturing and/or testing EVs is a plus.

  • Knowledge of electrical schematic and prints with experience in AutoCAD.

  • Ignition MES (experience is a plus)

  • Physical Demands:

  • May work various shifts if needed; may be requested to travel to different locations for training and acceptance testing.

  • Able to lift 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.

  • Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.

  • Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.

  • Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion

  • Environmental Demands:

  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.

  • Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.

  • Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.
