Job Description:

The New Markets Purchasing Specialist will be a core member of the Century Complete Purchasing team working with the Corporate and Division Purchasing Managers and VP of Operations to assist with entering new markets. Position will include up to 25% of travel time as a portion of time will need to be spent on the ground in the new markets.


  • Research and obtain costing for New Markets sourcing top ten crafts and acquiring three bids per craft.

  • Complete costing for the remainder of the crafts for the New Market.

  • Setup costing for the New Market in the NEWSTAR Feasibility Project

  • Follow company guidelines for on boarding new sub-contractors and ensures all necessary paperwork is in place and routed properly to ensure all vendors are fully documented before work commences.

  • Partner with Corporate and Division Purchasing Managers to prepare cost comparisons, identify cost savings, maintaining "should costs", and monitor rebate program adherence.

  • Monitor all costs associated with construction to ensure the company is receiving the best market price for labor and materials.

  • Reviews PO pre-releases to ensure accuracy prior to job start.

  • Analyze cost and variance spend reports to ensure maximum profitability.

  • Participate in Corporate National Purchasing initiatives to ensure compliance.


  • Experienced negotiation capabilities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Aptitude to run and review reports and pinpoint areas of need that align with company initiatives

  • Minimum 2 years' experience utilizing purchasing software with a knowledge basis on electronic Costing & Estimating

  • Minimum 2 years of new construction experience

VIEW JOBS 10/14/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-01-12T00:00 JOB PURPOSE: The Purchasing Leader will assist Distribution Leader in conducting day to day operations. Provide leadership to Material Handlers on all inventory functions needed to complete their job. Assist in maintaining the highest-level of quality and integrity to help promote our Pruitt culture. The Purchasing Leader is responsible for placing orders with the Vendors in a timely manner via email, making sure there is enough stock in the warehouse to fill all orders placed, following up with the Vendors on all back orders and communicating with Customer Service on any changes in item numbers, discontinued items and expected delivery dates and updating all inventory information. The Purchasing Leader will run and review daily reports and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to analyze the data and take the necessary actions to ensure adequate stock in the warehouse. Such reports as the Backorder report, Replenishment report and Sourcing Workbench will be utilized to complete daily tasks. As product is received, the Purchasing Leader will lead the Inventory and Receiving departments to maintain a high level of inventory integrity. Purchasing Leader will also ensure all new items are setup correctly and maintained daily. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Organized self-starter, detail oriented * Able to follow deadlines and schedules * Has an extensive knowledge about the items stocked in the UM warehouse * Communicates with the Vendors, Customer Service department, Accounts payable department, and the trucking companies effectively * Possesses good communication skills with both internal / external sources * Knowledge of customer usage and seasonality in ordering patterns * An intermediary knowledge of PeopleSoft and Microsoft Office suites * Keeps Distribution Leader informed of daily activities, and issues * Must get along with co-workers; maintain effective relationships with management staff, Partners and the general public. * Follows all company policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations and charged with reporting violations to the appropriate supervisor. * Carries out all duties with a "Commitment to Caring" and in accordance with the company's mission, vision, and philosophy. * Maintains confidentiality of company information. * Demonstrates honesty and integrity at all times. * Able to respond to change productively and handle additional projects as assigned. * Able to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this job (with or without reasonable accommodation) without posing specific or current risk of substantial harm to the health and safety of self and others. * Researches all backorders daily and orders accordingly * Work with inventory lead to maintain accurate inventory control * Works with receiving department to receive product efficiently * Resolves vendor shipping variances quickly KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: * Participate in center/agency surveys (Licensure / JCAHO) and any subsequently required reports. * Attend and participate in continuing educational programs to keep abreast of changes in your field as well as to maintain current license/certification, as required. * Attend and participate in mandatory in-services. * Honor patients/residents' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints. * Comply with corporate compliance program. * Report job-related functions/tasks that involve occupational hazards including exposure to blood and body fluids and others as necessary. * Follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection & prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc. * Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment. * Perform other related duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor. MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: Highschool Degree or equivalent MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3 years recent experience in a warehouse environment or supply chain logistics, 1 years of material handling experience (stand on forklift/Chery picker/Reach truck). Strong understanding of all warehouse processes and their connection to WMS. Ability to use systems and technology to multi-task, manage time and create efficiencies.
