Responsibilities:

  • Measured coordination among experienced engineering teams on a wide-array of design, analysis, test, and manufacturing issues

  • Evaluating detailed products, including design, analysis, test data, drawings, reports, verification plans, etc. for suitability in meeting customer certification needs

  • Coordinate customer participation and product deliveries in support of system design & verification reviews and/or major integrated test readiness reviews

  • Coordinate data deliveries, including configuration management of models, analysis products, data review packages, in support of Independent Verification and Validation activities

  • Interface directly with government agencies, including the USAF Space and Missile Systems Center

  • Plan, develop, deliver, and communicate results in support of government customer requests

  • Adaptability and flexibility to perform at a high-level in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent technical field

  • Ability to work effectively in teams with a demonstrated track record of good communication, execution, and coordination skills

  • Knowledge of current systems engineering and integration tools and methodologies

  • Exhibit excellent judgement and be comfortable making high-quality and high-velocity decisions

  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • 10+ years of experience with system development and/or integration, preferably with aerospace hardware

  • Familiarity with external launch vehicle requirement sources such as the SMC set of standards

  • Significant experience with common data transfer platforms (SFTP, Sharepoint, NOMAD, AMRDEC SAFE, etc.)

  • Experience with collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA

VIEW JOBS 5/22/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-08-20T00:00 DESCRIPTION: As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will design, develop, and verify the various avionics that make up the electrical power systems for launch vehicles and spacecraft. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight. You will be a component responsible engineer working alongside and guiding design engineers to develop an integrated avionics component. As such this position will provide many learning and teaching opportunities in the area of power electronics and electrical power systems. Responsibilities * Own the development of power electronics such as DC/DCs, inverters, power management and distribution hardware, motor drivers, batteries, battery chargers, and test equipment. * Lead other engineers in the development of integrated avionics hardware in the areas of circuit design, mechanical design, manufacturing, and test. * Validate and verify requirements through test, analysis, inspection, or demonstration * Plan and conduct tests and analysis, review and interpret data * Oversee and support fabrication, assembly, test, and end use of hardware * Perform stress/deratings analysis and worst case circuit analysis * Design basic digital systems to control/monitor power electronics hardware QUALIFICATIONS: Required * B.S. degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or an appropriate engineering field * 6+ years of recent power electronics systems development for hardware used in harsh or space environments * Experience with the full development and deployment lifecycle of avionics hardware or similar field (automotive, military, etc.) * Schematic capture and board layout experience * Use of LTSpice for modeling circuits and systems * Basic understanding of DC/DC converters, inverters, AC & DC motors, battery chargers, solid-state power distribution, grounding, and analog circuit design * Desire to work hands-on, as part of a team, in both development and production phases of a product lifecycle * Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
