What is the opportunity?
As a New Business Specialist with RBC Wealth Management you will support and facilitate the New Business Department's Trust client onboarding process and support the onboarding of new American Gift Fund accounts. You will also provide assistance and support to the New Business Officers and the New Business Manager as well as interface with the Business Development Department, specifically to provide pipeline updates.
What will you do?
Review documentation collected by other members of the New Business Department to ensure proper completion and collection prior to account opening
Ensure proper account coding and documentation
Oversee communication with Operations to confirm the proper asset receipt by the Operations Department
Provide peer checks of key New Business Department functions
Focus on expanding efficiency of account opening both internally and with our external investment partners
Help set expectations around timing and progress of files, as well as ensure policies and procedures are followed in a timely manner
Assist with the development of New Business Department procedures and policies
Provide back up to other members of the New Business Department to cover, vacations and high volume
What do you need to succeed?
4 year degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent experience
3+ years financial industry experience (fiduciary area preferred)
Trust business experience and knowledge, as well as completion of some Cannon Trust school or equivalent coursework
Investment product knowledge/experience and AML knowledge/experience, and a strong understanding of the third party trust channel and account logistics
High competency in principal and income accounting software and Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish relationships and effectively interact with all levels of staff and personnel
Works well under pressure and meet deadlines
Organized with strong attention to detail and strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Anticipate needs and proactively seek solutions
