About the role:

The New Business Development Manager role is positioned to work in lock-step with the New Business (Retailer) and Onboarding functions to enable a higher volume of new business to take place. This critical role will support the New Business Sales team for North America, directly reporting into the GVP, New Business and dot-lining into the Director, Onboarding & Implementation.

The New Business Development Manager will be responsible for:

  • Working directly with the New Business Sellers to ensure they are properly evaluating the retailer based on the necessary retailer qualification scorecard needs, including but not limited to awareness and education on the process.

  • Collecting assets and information from potential new clients to utilize during the qualification process.

  • Completing exercises around opportunity sizing and market evaluation to support the client qualification process.

  • Strategizing with sellers to determine the best plan of action for each potential retailer client and what specific actions are needed to move the deal forward.

  • Answering client questions and/or meeting with clients 1:1 to help explain processes, capture any follow-ups, and provide additional insight.

  • Manage legal contract routing, follow-ups, and overall contracting process.

  • CRM gate checks to ensure active and updated record keeping.

  • Working with other cross-functional SMEs or department leads to collect necessary information and deliverables that will facilitate the closing of a new retailer deal.

  • Preparing weekly report drafts, updating status, and working with the New Business EVP to distribute.

  • Scheduling and coordinating availability for client and internal sessions, ensuring there is coverage from all necessary teams.

  • Manage the connectivity between New Business, Pre-Sales, and the Onboarding team to effectively meet client needs and maintain internal requirements.

  • Keeping the Onboarding and Pre-Sales teams informed of New Business progress and deliverables.

  • Assist in the development of process efficiencies between Onboarding, Pre-Sales & New Business.

  • Client research.

This role will require strong communications skills, organization, and attention to detail. It's important that the individual in this role understands its crucial impact on the organization, from big projects to small tasks.

Accountability

This position will report into the Global EVP of Sales, with a dot line into the Director, Onboarding & Implementation. Performance will be evaluated through successful performance of duties and responsibilities, ability to multitask in a fast-moving culture, organizational skills, and enabling the new business and onboarding functions to operate with more efficiency and higher output. A critical outcome will also focus on the role's ability to action tasks quickly and with extreme efficiency to move the new deal pipeline forward. The role will require regular interaction with new and potential clients, ensuring they are executing necessary to-dos.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • New Retailer Score Card Support

  • 5 Families prep for weekly meetings

  • Retailer Research - Pre-Sales and Sales Support

  • Identifying contacts at companies from our target outreach list

  • Research monetization tools currently being used by retailers

  • Competitor research

  • Meeting prep - ensure new business and onboarding leads are prepared with what is needed for effective meetings.

  • Follow-ups, reviews and recaps for Legal requirements including but not limited to NDA, SOW, MSAs and other necessary agreements.

  • Team Organization

  • Scheduling of sessions, ensuring representation from New Business.

  • Proactive communication to clients

  • Task / project tracking against timelines

  • Submitting internal tickets for IT or analytics requests and keeping track of their status to ensure follow up and completion

  • Creation and management of weekly reports

  • CRM and Meetings

  • Taking detailed meeting notes, inclusive of required follow-ups

  • Logging notes in the CRM tool

  • Listing and scheduling follow up tasks

  • Additional Responsibilities include:

  • Finding areas of efficiency for team success

  • Meeting deck creation and editing, including coordinating with marketing for design needs

Work Experience

  • 5+ years' working in a client facing style role

  • 2+ years' experience in Retail Media industry

  • 1+ years' working in a role where you've been dealing with legal agreements
