A New Account Representative's role is a very important one inside FirstBank. As not every customer's financial situation is the same, New Account Representatives recognize and develop opportunities to match customer needs with bank products and services to meet company sales goals. You will also develop and maintain account relationships with current customers and resolve customer problems by providing solutions through quality service and product knowledge.

Additional pay increase may apply for individuals bilingual in Spanish and English.



Work is performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels and light to heavy traffic. An individual in this position:

  • Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day

  • Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer

  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms

  • Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights

  • Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files

  • Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 Summary The Client Account Coordinator position has the primary responsibility of scheduling procedures, communicating with the referring veterinarians, managing medical records, providing excellent service to clients and delivering support and supervising the front desk operations. Additionally, this position may participate in any or all aspects of the revenue cycle including scheduling, registration, charge entry, A/R follow up, payment posting and collections. The position reports to the Manager of Accounts for the Midwestern University Animal Health Institute (AHI). The Client Account Coordinator must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed. The schedule may vary based on the needs of the clinic. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Schedule procedures as indicated / directed by the AHI clinicians * Review referring veterinarian communications and ensure all communication is disseminated in a timely manner * Utilize correct veterinary terminology * Differentiate routine veterinary cases from emergency cases * Document pet owner communication accurately into electronic medical record * Follow appropriate protocols in scheduling patients with infectious or contagious disease * Communicates with clients, faculty, students, referring veterinarians and other departments to resolve client accounts * Coordinate proper front desk staff coverage through the Animal Health Institute * Work in conjunction with the Manager of Accounts to help reach and maintain financial and accounts receivable goals for the Animal Health Institute * Distribute accounts receivable reports accordingly * Process system reports such as aged accounts receivable and unallocated payments reports * Prepare account adjustments for approval * Monitor and maintain various reports and daily deposits for the College of Veterinary Medicine * Must treat all employees, students, and clients with a high level of respect while providing excellence in customer service, following the guidelines of MWU and the Animal Health Institute * Explain charges/balances to clients /pet owners * Prepare account adjustments for approval * On occasion, animal handling may be required * Provide support for other MWU clinics as needed * Other duties may be assigned Back up for Account Representatives to include: * Greet and direct patients and visitors * Answer phones and direct client questions to the appropriate team member * Enter patient information into the computer system * Perform cashiering, billing, refunds to patient and third parties, payment plans, and collections * Process payment plans with responsible party and perform follow ups Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. This individual will act as a lead to the Patient Account Representatives at the Animal Health Institute and will assist with directing and delegating duties to the Account Representatives. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associate degree or higher is preferred. A minimum of five years of experience working in a veterinary animal hospital or related setting is required. Experience working in a team environment with a high focus on excellent customer service and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor, be detail oriented and promote a welcoming atmosphere is essential. Supervisory experience is preferred. Computer Skills Computer proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required. The individual must have the ability to learn/navigate effectively in a practice management system.
