Evaluation of cognitive, developmental, behavioral, emotional, and social deficits and academic challenges. Works in the area(s) may include epilepsy, oncology, TBI, genetics, or neurocardiac programs with outpatient, inpatient, and clinic responsibilities. May participate in research protocols. Responsible for the supervision of interns and practicum students.
Minimum Job Requirements
CPI (Crisis Intervention Training) required as per department.
Doctorate degree in psychology or neuropsychology.
Experience in Pediatric Psychology and Clinical Supervision.
Level II finger printing background required.
Licensed as Clinical Psychologist in the State of Florida.
APA/CPA-accredited pre-doctoral internship with supervised experience in clinical neuropsychology.
Two year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology.
Member in good standing of the MCH Medical Staff.
Neuropsychology board eligibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive interviews to ascertain reason for referral, patient concerns, medical & psychosocial history. Determine the necessity for additional evaluation & plan assessment tools.
Select, administer, and score neuropsychological, developmental, and psychological test measures.
Interpret assessment results based on understanding of brain-behavior relationships using available evidence-based approaches to cognitive development and current research.
Prepare integrated neuropsychological reports using data from tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct observations, and interviews.
Reports and provides recommendations for accommodation or remediation of deficient skills.
Provide interpretative feedback to parents, primary caregivers, or members of the medical team.
May provide education and/or short-term counseling to select families or individuals for effecting changes in behavior, emotions, motivation, social issues, etc.
Participate in multidisciplinary conferences & interdisciplinary staff meetings as needed to discuss & evaluate the diagnoses and treatment/management of patients and formulate rehabilitation plans.
Support institutional research initiatives through provision of neuropsychological evaluation and consultative services.
Maximize productivity efficiency while maintaining documentation and reporting standards, including order and progress note entry into Electronic Health Record.
Understanding of brain-behavior relationships with competence in assessment and conceptualization of multifactorial deficits.
Skill in clinical diagnosis and treatment of childhood psychological disorders.
Ability to provide supervision to students.
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality of sensitive information.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to formulate recommendation plan for remediation or accommodation of cognitive/psychological/academic/social deficits and assist with implementation of the plan.
