JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

Job Summary -- Essential Functions/Duties

A Field Engineer III performs as a lead on more complex field engineering assignments and performs a variety of engineering assignments involving technology applications involved in the installation, operation, testing, and maintenance of complex electronic/mechanical equipment and systems.

Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:

  • The selection, configuration, and installation of LAN, WAN and security related network infrastructure equipment.

  • Responsible for Tier 3 technical support across various Voice, Video and Data systems including various network manufacturers and configurations.

  • Construct and manage network documentation including but not limited to functional/logical diagrams, best practices, reference guides, compliance checklists.

  • Research and review third-party systems/applications to improve network operational and maintenance capabilities.

  • Coordinate with System Administrators on Data Center infrastructure and system integration.

  • Provide and review documentation in accordance with DoD and various other organizations to ensure continued security compliance.

  • Collaborate with project management teams, civil engineering, and other entities for facility and network system integration.

  • Perform data recovery and backup of networking and associated security systems.

  • Interfacing with commercial and DoD carrier services and managing the system interconnects.

Desired Requirements

  • Experience with configuration, installation and design of Network Routing/Switch hardware (Any vendors; Cisco desired).

  • Experience with firewall, VPN and network security devices (Any vendors; Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco and ForcePoint desired).

  • Exposure to various network security compliance regulations (examples: RMF and ICD 705).

  • Network Certification desired (CCNP or equivalent).

  • IT Security Certification desired (DoD 8570 compliance -- examples: CompTIA Security+, SANS, etc...).

Requirements -- Education, Technical, and Work Experience

An associate's degree in engineering or other technical discipline, or formal academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of 10 years of experience in the specialty field are required for this position.

In addition, a Field Engineer III must possess the following qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering that enable senior technical contributor-level performance on complex projects or programs.

  • Knowledge and skill sufficient to apply developments in engineering to solve problems in the specialty area.

  • Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs.

  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Planning/organizational skills.

Salary

The expected salary range for this position is $72,800.00 to $112,320.00 annually.

JT4 LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; and constant mental alertness are required.

Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
