JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Systems Administrator to join our team. As the Lead Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the administration of all Electronic Health Records (EHRs) and other critical systems used by PHMC Operations. Your expertise in infrastructure and technical architecture will play a vital role in enhancing our Client/Server and web systems. Collaborating with support teams, network administrators, and project managers, you will analyze requirements, ensure robust infrastructure, address security concerns, and provide detailed implementation specifications. Your excellent communication skills will be crucial in keeping management informed of project progress, challenges, and contingencies. Additionally, you will develop testing criteria with the business to facilitate acceptance of change and stay up to date with emerging technologies to contribute to PHMC's technical vision. Your role will also involve maintaining uptime, security, and enhancing client/server, web, and legacy applications. Effective communication with direct reports and management, progress tracking, and adherence to industry compliance requirements will be key to your success.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a full-time position requiring a standard work schedule of five days per week and 40 hours per week. Work is performed year-round, with the possibility of occasional evening and Saturday shifts during peak periods. The primary work location is at 1500 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA, as well as our secure datacenter facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mentor team members, fostering technical skill development and knowledge sharing.

  • Adhere closely to change management practices, policies, and procedures.

  • Evaluate business requirements and incorporate them into the design of technical solutions.

  • Collaborate with network administrators to create and maintain application-related network architecture documentation.

  • Monitor and maintain day-to-day systems operations, providing proactive support and troubleshooting as needed.

  • Manage computer and communications hardware and software supporting business and technical system requirements.

  • Oversee the execution of project plan specifications, driving necessary business system enhancements.

  • Review and participate in network design recommendations and implementation services from third-party vendors and business partners.

  • Perform system reviews, including event log analysis, system log monitoring, and critical hardware and software monitoring.

  • Ensure timely delivery of work according to established timelines.

  • Communicate project statuses throughout the project lifecycle to the project management team.

  • Stay updated on new technologies through training, research, and reference materials.

  • Ensure network designs meet HIPAA, SOX, and PCI compliance requirements.

  • Evaluate technologies for their suitability within the IT department and alignment with business objectives.

  • Provide work estimates and technical specifications for review and approval by IT Leadership.

  • Uphold network and application security, redundancy, resiliency standards, and documented procedures for critical event remediation.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, support specialists, and users to ensure infrastructure and configuration align with business requirements.

  • Track work progress and quality using project management/work effort software (PSA).

  • Manage contemplated change notices and change orders, communicating effectively with stakeholders.

  • Be accountable for accurately tracking time and work efforts in PSA.

  • Proactively suggest ideas to improve department processes, fostering a positive and constructive attitude among team members.

  • Provide training to department employees on computer and communications systems functions as needed.

  • Keep IT Leadership informed of work efforts and challenges that may impact business relations.

  • Perform any other duties as assigned by IT Leadership.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five to eight years of combined professional IT infrastructure experience required, encompassing Systems Administration, Network Administration, and Security Administration, demonstrating a track record of progression.

  • Proficiency in network and systems administration, including databases, web applications, and business applications.

  • Experience working with multi-location business enterprises and technical centralization.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Information Technology major from an accredited institution of higher learning or equivalent, verifiable experience in the technology field demonstrating continuous advancement and learning.

  • Information Technology-related certifications, particularly in network and systems administration (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, A+, Net+), are considered a plus for this role.

SUPERVISOR:

This position reports to the IT Infrastructure Manager and ultimately to the Managing Director of Information Technology.

SALARY RANGE:

Grade: 22
