ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Network/F5 Engineer located in Washington, DC. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.
Job Responsibilities -
This position is located in Washington, DC at the Department of Transportation Headquarters' Building and is assigned to provide the below described services in support of the operations and maintenance of both a physical and virtual Infrastructure. The candidate will be assigned to the Network Engineering Team and serves as a Network Engineer specializing with F5 engineering in the Information Technology Shared Services' (DOT ITSS) organization under the Office of the Secretary. The work is performed in a Cisco environment that provides services to over 12,000 networked PCs (laptops and desktops) and 900 servers, including systems located primarily within two data centers, and specific file and print servers located at approximately 160 field locations and 260 offices. The F5 Network Engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of the F5 BIG IP infrastructure. The engineer will be required to perform all F5 LTM functions including configuration of new applications, including virtual servers, pools/pool members, nodes, monitors, iRules, etc. The ideal candidate will have experience with Cisco networks, including switches, VLANs, and OSPF and BGP routing. Additionally, the candidate would have experience with wireless network builds, management, and improvements.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, or demonstrated equivalent experience of at least four years in similar senior team leadership position(s).
Configuration and troubleshooting of new LTM and web accelerator applications
Experience with digital certificates and how to apply them to LTM applications
Experience with iRules
Experience configuring and troubleshooting AnyConnect (preferred AnyConnect on ASAs)
Experience configuring and administering Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
BIG IP software upgrades and licensing procedures
GTM, APM, ASM experience or the ability to learn these in a timely manner in order to support upcoming projects
Experience with deploying new BIG IP appliances including addressing, cabling, etc
IPv4 and IPv6 subnetting
Understanding of data center networks, including Cisco Nexus and Catalyst 6900 switches a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communications
Comfortable responding and reporting to Executive-level managers
Knowledge of Remedy or other CRM Tools
Experience with Cisco Unified Wireless networking to include; 802.11a, b, g & n, LWAPP, CAPWAP, WCS, WLC and APs, Prime Infrastructure
Experience with Check Point firewalls
Knowledge of scripting to help with log reporting
