OVERVIEW OF POSITION:
We are seeking a Network Virtualization Engineer to support the maintenance and operation of their VDI environment. The engineer will plan, install, maintain, upgrade, and implement "best practice", as well as identify solutions for the institution's VMware VDI environment including VMWARE software, other related software, and all associated hardware products. This position requires a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can interface with a diverse group of people and situations.
This is a full-time, administrative position.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Designing, Deploying, Configuring and Managing VMware-based systems for high-availability and efficiency, including vCenter, cSphere, ESXi v6.x and Horizon View VDI.
Experience Designing, Deploying, Managing, Monitoring and Troubleshooting a VMware VDI Environment for Desktops
Core VMware technology skills including experience with ESXi v6.x, VMware v6.x, vCenter, Application Virtualization, Desktop Virtualization (VMware Horizon/View/ThinApp)
Scripting and managing printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices in a VMware VDI environment
Installing, Configuring, and Managing Thin, Zero, and Full Clients
Experience Managing, Monitoring, Maintaining and Troubleshooting SQL Server Databases (2014, 2016)
An In-depth knowledge of Windows Server and Desktop Environments (2012R2 and 2016)
Maintain current knowledge of relevant hardware and software applications as assigned
Knowledge of TCP/I, DNS, Local Area Networking
Must understand drivers for completing requests for Virtual Machines in order to successfully support the environment
Implement security procedures to protect hardware and software from theft, misuse, tampering, illegal and unauthorized use
Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning
Participates in special projects as required
Excellent Communication and Documentation skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in related technology field required. VMware Certification(s) is a plus
At least three years of work related experience in a large organization with virtual infrastructure supporting servers, storage and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure
Technical written & verbal communication skills (technical writing)
