Job Description:

UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an experienced Network Technician Supervisor to join Infrastructure & Communication Technology, a division of UFIT.

Infrastructure and Communication Technology, a division of UFIT, manages the UF Data Center and delivers hosted server, storage, virtualization, database, email, and related systems, in addition to connecting the University of Florida campuses to the world via high-speed data, video, Wi-Fi, telecommunications, and VoIP services.

The incumbent will be responsible for

  • Management of a team responsible for servicing customer requests and incidents regarding networking and wireless equipment, upgrades and/or operations.

  • Initiates and leads complex requests and incidents through resolution

  • Assists in smaller to medium sized projects revolving around wallplate and wireless deployment across UF Campus

  • Execute on several administrative tasks that revolves around the efficiency and accountability of the team

  • Assists in team's documentation efforts around the network service

  • Participates in purchasing and inventory efforts for the equipment needs of the team

$80,000 95,000 annually, commensurate based on experience and education.

Minimum Requirements:

To qualify the applicant must have completed a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four (4) years of relevant experience.

Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced information technology professional with a high level of verbal and written communication skills.

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other relevant field
  • BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer

EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, etc.

  • Knowledge of CISCO based networking knowledge such as routing, switching, and network design

  • Knowledge of Physical Network Infrastructure and the components that make up the physical network

  • Knowledge and understanding of the UF telecommunications standards and labeling standards

  • Thorough understanding of physical networking principles and their application at UF

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

The chief purpose of the Veterinary Technician position is to provide nursing care for hospitalized pre and post-operative patients. * This position works with veterinarians, fellow technicians, assistants, and volunteers to provide patient care and administrative support in the Progressive Care Ward of the Emergency Critical Care department. * This position works under direct supervision from a manager as well as supportive oversight from veterinarians and higher level technicians. * The incumbent provides basic patient care, administrative support, and student teaching as directed. * The incumbent must be a motivated, well-organized, and caring individual who is knowledgeable and skillful in the nursing care of stable and critically ill animal patients. * This position requires a post offer health assessment and criminal background check. * This position is full time. Schedule may include working some holidays. Advertised Salary: Starting salary is $13.00 to $16.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Minimum Requirements: Veterinary Technician I: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of veterinary experience or one year of veterinary experience and currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program or a graduate of a veterinary technician program.
