Network Technician Supervisor
UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an experienced Network Technician Supervisor to join Infrastructure & Communication Technology, a division of UFIT.
Infrastructure and Communication Technology, a division of UFIT, manages the UF Data Center and delivers hosted server, storage, virtualization, database, email, and related systems, in addition to connecting the University of Florida campuses to the world via high-speed data, video, Wi-Fi, telecommunications, and VoIP services.
The incumbent will be responsible for
Management of a team responsible for servicing customer requests and incidents regarding networking and wireless equipment, upgrades and/or operations.
Initiates and leads complex requests and incidents through resolution
Assists in smaller to medium sized projects revolving around wallplate and wireless deployment across UF Campus
Execute on several administrative tasks that revolves around the efficiency and accountability of the team
Assists in team's documentation efforts around the network service
Participates in purchasing and inventory efforts for the equipment needs of the team

$80,000 95,000 annually, commensurate based on experience and education.

To qualify the applicant must have completed a Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four (4) years of relevant experience.
Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced information technology professional with a high level of verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, etc.
Knowledge of CISCO based networking knowledge such as routing, switching, and network design
Knowledge of Physical Network Infrastructure and the components that make up the physical network
Knowledge and understanding of the UF telecommunications standards and labeling standards
Thorough understanding of physical networking principles and their application at UF
