Network Systems Engineer

Your tasks

As a Network Systems Engineer, you will be a viable member of a team focused on building high-quality, state-of-the-art passenger trains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and configuring the network infrastructure and collaboration in the development of new network strategies

  • System integration of communication and information systems in Stadler vehicles, taking into account customer requirements, standards and statutory provisions

  • Preparation of engineering and production documents (e.g. electrical schematic and system drawings)

  • Initial commissioning, validation and maintenance of the systems

  • Interdisciplinary coordination with Electrical and Software Engineering, Installation Planning, Purchasing, and other groups and departments

  • Create system and customer documentation

  • Provide user training and support

  • Collaborate with suppliers and certification authorities in an international environment

  • Interpret and incorporate local, federal and customer requirements into system designs

  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements while also considering applicable standards, laws and national requirements

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in software, computer or electrical engineering

  • Experience in network communication systems in the transport or industrial sector

  • Experience in network system security

  • Experience in various communication technologies (e.g. VPN, VLAN, XML-RPC etc.)

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Excellent technical problem-solving abilities with strong teamwork skills

  • Knowledge of Java and/or Python is a plus

  • Business fluent in English

  • 2-5 (II), 5-8 (III), 8-10 (IV) or 10+ (Sr.) years of relevant experience in railway or similar industries
