Job Responsibilities:

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment maintaining LAN / WAN services, remote access, network services, firewalls, load-balancer availability, and security in the Everi gaming environment.

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment performing network modeling, analysis, and testing to support new products.

  • Customarily and regularly develop test plans, implementation plans and project timelines for various projects.

  • Customarily and regularly write functional requirements/specifications and maintain documentation.

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment performing network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems.

  • Customarily and regularly upgrade network hardware and software components as required.

  • Serve as architect managing and maintaining all network components, functions, and implementations.

  • Serve as primary contact for troubleshooting problems and developing innovative gaming network solutions.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical field, or equivalent work experience required.

  • Certification in one of the following required: CCNA, CCNP, BCEFP or similar.

Job Knowledge/Work Experience:

  • 5-8 years' on the job experience in the gaming industry.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of several software, system, and network technologies.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with IPSEC site-to-site VPNs, remote access client VPN, BGP routing protocols, static routes, VLANs, and SSL / TLS.

  • Proficient understanding of the TCP / IP protocol stack, application protocols such as SNMP, SMTP, DNS, and DHCP.

  • Proficient understanding of the design and implementation of security controls for LAN / WAN architectures.

  • Proficient understanding of configuration of Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and Barracuda load balancers.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Solar Winds, Wireshark, and Splunk.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of VMWare, MS Server, MS Sequel, and PowerShell.

Good Systems is a grand challenge of UT's Bridging Barriers initiative, an interdisciplinary research initiative sponsored by UT's Office of the Vice President for Research. Good Systems is leveraging the research power at The University of Texas to better understand what changes new AI technologies will bring, predict how those changes will unfold, and mitigate the harms or unintended consequences they could cause while still leveraging the benefits AI provides. Our team will establish a framework for evaluating, developing, implementing, and regulating AI-based technologies so they reflect human values at their core. The Network Relationship Manager will facilitate interactions, on behalf of Good Systems, with stakeholders from multiple communities across the campus and external to UT, including research communities, organizational community partners, company partners, academic advisors, and government partners. These interactions will be in service of the development of research activities related to Good Systems. This position is a fixed-term position currently through August 31, 2020 with the possibility of an extension based on funding. Responsibilities * Building relationships with stakeholders in the space of AI-based technology research including but not limited to responding to requests for partnership, identifying and communicating with potential partner organizations, and meeting with potential partners. * Maintain complete and accurate data on Good Systems relationships, analyze data and qualitative information to identify opportunities and leverage research potential, and be the point of contact for Good Systems Network members. * Scheduling, planning, and overseeing network engagement activities as well as attending (and/or ensuring coverage by Good Systems members in) network meetings and events organized by partners. * Becoming familiar with progress of multiple Good Systems projects to facilitate feedback on and participation in project activities (e.g. partners for research projects in upcoming funding opportunities), and serving as the primary liaison between network members, the Good Systems committees, and Good Systems leadership. * Establish/create simple repeatable systems and processes to handle collaboration requests and assist stakeholders to efficiently and effectively communicate their projects and research initiatives. Including writing updates/creating materials for external and internal (academic) audiences, may include co-authored pieces with researchers and community partners. Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience. * Demonstrated ability to create, maintain, and strengthen relationships with individual researchers, research teams, as well as other high-profile stakeholders like deans, vice presidents, department chairs, distinguished faculty, and/or executives. * Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse community members in a culturally appropriate and respectful manner. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications * Master's degree. * Demonstrated experience working in a large, complex organization. * Experience building relationships with government, industry, and other partners. * Strong knowledge of AI-based technology research.
