General Summary

  • Assists in analyzing local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating systems and protocol suites.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Assists in configuring and managing of network monitoring appliances and applications, such as IDS, Spam/Malware, and Anti-Virus Protection Systems *
  • Assists in the analysis of local and wide area network systems including the planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating systems and protocol suites *
  • Assists in configuring communication media with routers, switches, firewalls and other devices *
  • Assists in resolving interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms *
  • Assists in configuring systems to user environment *
  • May assist in the support acquisition of hardware and software, as well as, subcontractor services as needed

Required Experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience

  • Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheets and database programs

  • Working knowledge of current high level computer languages

  • Minimum of a DoD Top Secret clearance with eligibility for DIA-SCI access. Candidate selected must be able to successful pass DIA CI polygraph within 60 days of hire

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions) * Analyzes local and wide area network systems including the planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating systems and protocol suites * * Configures communication media with routers, switches, firewalls and other devices * * Resolves interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms * * Configures systems to user environment * * Manages network monitoring appliances and applications, such as IDS, Spam/Malware, and Anti-Virus Protection Systems * * Able to work with little supervision Required Experience Required Qualifications * Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. * Five years of related network systems engineering experience * Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheets and database programs * Working knowledge of current high level computer languages * Security+ CE (or higher level DoD 8570 certification required) * Computing Environment (CE) certification required * DoD Secret Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications * CISCO, MCSE, or other related certification preferred Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
