Job Summary

The position requires someone with an extensive and varied network and systems background. In this position the individual will be involved in setting up equipment for testing and launch activities. This includes both remote locations as well as at the Vector offices. Support existing software toolchain to deploy configuration controlled software to launch operations consoles. Travel to remote sites is required.

Essential Functions

  • Basic IT support functions for mobile test and launch teams

  • Experience with Windows Server

  • Desktop and server setup / tear down

  • Setup and configure networking equipment such as routers, switches, wifi

  • Ability to debug firewall settings

  • Troubleshoot broken systems

  • Specify and procure needed equipment

  • Coordinate with launch site operations on setup and equipment needs

  • Work with operations team on floorplan

  • Select equipment needed to support floorplans

  • Setup equipment on site.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent relevant experience

  • Experience (Years): >8

  • Experience (Technical): Networking and systems installation and configuration

  • Computer Skills:
    System administration for Windows and Linux

  • Travel: Approximately 20-25%

  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen

  • Additional Information: Previous work in a start-up environment desired.

The role requires broad knowledge in each of the following: Storage, Networking, Virtualization, Systems

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience managing version control software tools including Gitlab and Subversion

  • Experience with configuration management tools including Puppet, Chef, or Ansible

  • Experience with continuous integration tools including Jenkins

  • Experience with XenServer

  • Experience with Linux Redhat, Ubuntu, or CentOS

  • Experience with LabVIEW or Xilinx Software Toolchain

VIEW JOBS 11/15/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-13T00:00 The Tucson Passport Center is looking for a System Administrative Assistant to assist the Sr. System Administrators to provide day-to-day operational support or Windows 2008/2012 Server, Windows 7 workstation, end-user desktop support within a DoS Passport Book Production Facility (BPF). The SAA, under the direction of the Systems Administrator, will answer help desk calls and act as a liaison between local government and contract staff, providing Tier2/Tier3 support. Desktop support includes, but is not limited to, TDIS-PD, MS Office 2010, MS Access 2010, Adobe Acrobat, Symantec Endpoint Protection software, MS Sharepoint and other DoS-specific client and web-based applications. Per direction from the Systems Administrator, SAA will implement agency and Department of State management policies, security policies and procedures, and operating procedures as defined by Passport Services, Passport Systems, Consular Affairs, and other bureaus or offices (e.g. Diplomatic Security, Information Management Liaison, etc.). Performance of various tasks and major assignments related to Passport production operations and/or the Passport systems network operations including, but not limited to, adjusting site configurations to meet changing compliance requirements; managing site security configurations; coordinating with site management upcoming or ongoing site audits or inspections; and working with agency management to streamline and optimize system operations balancing system security, system operations, and workflow requirements. Working under the direction of the on-site System Administrator regarding adjustments to production workflow, adjustment to user actions or reactions to system operations, and may need to adjust various workstation operations or configurations to accommodate changes in system requirements, changes in security requirements, or changes in network or site configurations. With the concurrence of site management, adjust maintenance schedules and/or ordering of repair parts with the hardware technician to optimize or facilitate improved workflow operations for limited periods of time. Your future duties and responsibilities: Desired Skills: An advanced degree in a related field. Experience in working with the Government. Experience in training and writing documentation. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Associate Degree in a related field or a technical certificate from and accredited college or university Minimum three (3) years proven hands-on PC troubleshooting or technical support within the last 3 years Minimum two (2) years' experience with LAN/WANs, micro-computer communications, and Windows AD within the last 3 years Administration, to include network programming language, and DBMS software Extensive troubleshooting and user support experience in a MS Windows environment Good understanding of Windows Operating System and MS-Office applications Good understanding of scanning software and devices Ability to work independently Able to lift and carry 35lb, boxes and/or equipment Ability to successfully complete a Background Investigation to include; 50 State Criminal, Education and Employment; Additionally, your ability to successfully complete a Credit and/or Driving Records Checks may be conducted if required by the contract for continued employment Possession of an INTERIM SECRET security clearance is required to begin employment; Ability to maintain a SECRET security clearance is required for continued employment US Citizenship is required What you can expect from us: Build your career with us.
