L3 Network Support Engineer/Switches, Routers (Cisco), Data Access Points, Location: Mettawa, Chicago, IL:

The Network Engineer will be based in San Antonio at Client location. The Engineer will be responsible for working on day to day issues along with Client and Support team in India. He will be responsible for coordinating all network day to day operations. He will be further responsible for gathering new requirements and passing it on to Network Architect in India. client requirements and designing solutions for the same.

Job Description:
Translate business requirements into Network infrastructure solutions
Analyze complex cross functional and cross platform issues.
Work as Onsite coordinator for the onsite and offshore project and support teams of Zensar
Work closely with the IT managers, support teams and vendors
Develop and document procedures and best practices for network operations infrastructure
Palo Alto firewall
Day to day operational support of the network, including responding to user and system initiated tickets and resolving network incidents
Act as the first point of escalation for challenging issues not resolved by junior network operations engineers.
Establish and execute the life cycle process for network equipment, including OS patching and upgrades
Maintain network management systems and tools (Solarwinds, NetMRI, NetScout, etc.)
Define best practices for network management systems, including recommendations for key performance indicators and alert thresholds.
Review and respond to monitoring alerts, logs, and alarms
Analyse and maintain performance data, make recommendations and changes to ensure optimal network utilization
Installation and configuration of enterprise network devices, including routers, switches, and wireless access points
Installation and configuration of enterprise security devices, including firewalls and remote access concentrators
Work directly with customers to resolve incidents
Participate in team after hours
Perform other duties as assigned.

Should have minimum of 10 years of experience. 5+ years supporting a large enterprise environment required (multi-building campus, MAN/WAN, 5000 users)
Should have CCNP certification or equivalent level of skills.
Proficient knowledge and understanding of Network, Telephony and Security Products.
Experience in Cisco, Nexus and firewalls like Checkpoint, ASA
Experience is supporting Routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, connectivity technologies like MPLS, Point to Point Links, IPSEC VPNs, Wi-Fi.

VIEW JOBS 11/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-11T00:00 JOB OBJECTIVES: Under the supervision of the Help Desk Manager, the Network Support Engineer is responsible for providing onsite and remote site end-user support. The Network Support Engineer must effectively question users to understand the problem they are experiencing and then lead users through established workflows to identify, isolate, and resolve the source of the problem. The position is highly integrated with other Technical Support staff members to ensure standards, security, and policy compliance within the network infrastructure and enterprise. PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Interact with end-users via telephone, e-mail, etc. to identify and initiate resolutions to client problems and concerns associated with computer hardware, software, and operating systems. Follow-up with the end-user is paramount. Prioritize problems and complaints. Utilize all technical resources to solve end-user problems. Follow established workflows to escalate unresolved calls to appropriate staff. * Adheres and maintains a positive working relationship with all the enterprise departments including affiliated agencies to optimize working relationships and communication while performing at or above the enterprise evaluation standards established within the ISS department. Provides audio and video user support for our conference center and individual web conferences. Schedules and places audio/video conferencing equipment (speaker phones, web cams etc.). Provides user training for special features as needed. Maintain physical security of the audio video equipment. Documents technical procedures and keeps operating manuals current. * Monitoring the data center's computer systems and the associated daily operations. Timely and accurate processing of daily, weekly, and monthly enterprise system procedures. Execute jobs for batch control, performs scheduled backups on all production platforms, data center printing, communicates and reports with key staff on all production problems, maintains information databases, and records key metrics. * Assists with the client training on computer systems and applications. Provides quality individual and group training. * Fulfills department requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation or education. * Directly supports JUF campaign integration on an ongoing basis in addition to mandatory campaign-related activities. REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma or equivalent is required. * BS or BA degree in computer science, business administration or related field is preferred or equivalent work experience. * 2 years of personal computer experience. * Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills. * Experience with Active Directory, Exchange administration, Microsoft System Center a plus (Data Protection Manager, Operations Manager). * Proficient with the Microsoft Suite of Products (Windows 7, Office 2010-13). * Proficient with handheld devices (IOS, Android). * Proficient with MAC. * Proficient with printers (Ricoh, HP). * A working knowledge of Creston, Apple devices, Shure Digital Wireless Receiver, Ploycom Conference Bridge, Samsung, Listen, TOA, Infrared equipment, Extron products, Video distribution systems, Plasma, LCD, LED, Projection systems. * A firm understanding of interconnecting and operation of audio/video system devices. * The ability to work with staff at all levels and maintain confidential information. * Able to work fluctuating hours when necessary.
