As a Network Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing quality technical support for our growing client and partner base. You will diagnose problems and troubleshoot the entire Meraki product line, including our wireless access points, security appliances, and switches. Our support engineers are foremost problem-solvers passionate about networking, and we seek talented, enthusiastic and tech-savvy individuals to build upon our rapidly expanding Cloud Networking Group. Characteristics of success in this role include previous experience in supporting or testing LANs, VLANs, VPNs, NAT devices, or DHCP servers; experience installing and troubleshooting WiFi networks; and having the ability to multi-task and work under pressure. We're looking for people who take pride in doing excellent work, and can both teach and learn from those around them.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate with third parties such as partners and customers regarding technical issues and customer service inquiries, both orally and in writing.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot wireless, security, switching, and other various network-related issues reported by Cisco Meraki customers and partners.

  • Own each customer case from initial creation to resolution.

  • Collaborate with other support team members to fix network outages, misconfigurations, and complex networking issues on customers' devices.

  • Read and analyze packet captures using Wireshark.

  • Work with engineering and management to diagnose and resolve critical, escalated issues.

  • Use acquired knowledge to suggest, edit, and write in-depth Knowledge Base articles.

  • Stay up to date on Meraki features and technology by attending lunch and learns, participating in engineering and product team communication, and keeping up with enterprise and cloud networking trends.

Qualifications

  • Fundamental understanding of and hands-on experience with network technologies including firewalls, content filters, routing/switching, VLANs, and 802.11a/b/g/n/ac wireless.

  • Thorough comprehension of fundamental networking protocols including TCP, STP, ARP, Ethernet, OSPF, etc.

  • Experience supporting or testing LANs, VLANs, WLANs, VPNs, NAT devices, &/or DHCP servers.

  • Outstanding English language written and verbal communication skills and comprehension.

  • Ability to clearly and concisely articulate matters to third parties.

  • Outstanding customer service skills.

  • Excellent account management, follow-through, and attention to detail.

  • Experience in computer networking related problem solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.

  • Working towards or have a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Technology, Information and Computer Technology, Networking and IT Security, or a related discipline from a top-tier university. Complete degree necessary to begin work.

  • Networking certifications a plus: CCNA, CCNP CWNA, etc.

VIEW JOBS 11/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-11T00:00 JOB OBJECTIVES: Under the supervision of the Help Desk Manager, the Network Support Engineer is responsible for providing onsite and remote site end-user support. The Network Support Engineer must effectively question users to understand the problem they are experiencing and then lead users through established workflows to identify, isolate, and resolve the source of the problem. The position is highly integrated with other Technical Support staff members to ensure standards, security, and policy compliance within the network infrastructure and enterprise. PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: * Interact with end-users via telephone, e-mail, etc. to identify and initiate resolutions to client problems and concerns associated with computer hardware, software, and operating systems. Follow-up with the end-user is paramount. Prioritize problems and complaints. Utilize all technical resources to solve end-user problems. Follow established workflows to escalate unresolved calls to appropriate staff. * Adheres and maintains a positive working relationship with all the enterprise departments including affiliated agencies to optimize working relationships and communication while performing at or above the enterprise evaluation standards established within the ISS department. Provides audio and video user support for our conference center and individual web conferences. Schedules and places audio/video conferencing equipment (speaker phones, web cams etc.). Provides user training for special features as needed. Maintain physical security of the audio video equipment. Documents technical procedures and keeps operating manuals current. * Monitoring the data center's computer systems and the associated daily operations. Timely and accurate processing of daily, weekly, and monthly enterprise system procedures. Execute jobs for batch control, performs scheduled backups on all production platforms, data center printing, communicates and reports with key staff on all production problems, maintains information databases, and records key metrics. * Assists with the client training on computer systems and applications. Provides quality individual and group training. * Fulfills department requirements in terms of providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation or education. * Directly supports JUF campaign integration on an ongoing basis in addition to mandatory campaign-related activities. REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma or equivalent is required. * BS or BA degree in computer science, business administration or related field is preferred or equivalent work experience. * 2 years of personal computer experience. * Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills. * Experience with Active Directory, Exchange administration, Microsoft System Center a plus (Data Protection Manager, Operations Manager). * Proficient with the Microsoft Suite of Products (Windows 7, Office 2010-13). * Proficient with handheld devices (IOS, Android). * Proficient with MAC. * Proficient with printers (Ricoh, HP). * A working knowledge of Creston, Apple devices, Shure Digital Wireless Receiver, Ploycom Conference Bridge, Samsung, Listen, TOA, Infrared equipment, Extron products, Video distribution systems, Plasma, LCD, LED, Projection systems. * A firm understanding of interconnecting and operation of audio/video system devices. * The ability to work with staff at all levels and maintain confidential information. * Able to work fluctuating hours when necessary.
