Job Title: Microsoft Network Support EngineerPosition Overview:As a Microsoft Network Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in maintaining and supporting our network infrastructure consisting of 35 machines and multiple servers for a regional firm in the construction industry that had field personnel. Your expertise will ensure seamless operation, optimal performance, and security of our network environment and communications. Experience within the construction industry is preferred, but not required.Position would be based in Elk River and would offer a flexible schedule. Could consider part time as well if available during daytime hours.Responsibilities:
Provide onsite and remote support for Microsoft network infrastructure, including workstations, servers, and network devices.
Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as system updates, patches, and backups to ensure system reliability and security.
Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including connectivity, performance, and security concerns.
Implement and enforce network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to implement network upgrades and enhancements.
Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and future reference.
Additional items like project management, data analysis, report generation all couple be possibilities depending on skills.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
Proven experience in Microsoft network administration and support.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
Familiarity with network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in the construction industry or with construction-specific software/tools.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Network Engineer (MCSE) or CompTIA Network+.
