Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Active Directory, Windows Server, and System Center Suite.

  • Experience in supporting TCP/IP Network infrastructure, with experience in administering Cisco network and security devices.

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure services and Office 365.

  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange Server and Office 365 mail administration.

  • Experience in identifying vendor product solutions in alignment with business or technical requirements and conducting proofs of concept.

  • Experience in configuring systems in alignment with security control requirements.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively with business or technical personnel.

Position Specific:

The position is directly responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance for IT Hardware and software used for DFA"s IT Infrastructure. The position is responsible for working with DFA staff and vendors in order to install and configure systems, ensure that systems are updated, and provide monitoring for system performance.

The position is responsible for troubleshooting complex IT systems, working with users and vendors to troubleshoot and remediate issues. The position provides indirect security support for DFA systems, but ensuring systems are configured according to best practices and regulatory guidance where applicable. This position is responsible for the implementation and support of server, storage and networking components comprising the DFA Information System. This position is expected to be on-call 24x7 and to perform after hours work when deemed necessary.

Summary

The Network Support Analyst is responsible for maintaining and designing the state data, voice, video, and wireless networks, and provide additional level of maintenance support for network users. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Functions

Designs data, voice, video, and wireless networks for the state. Evaluates network management and monitoring products as well as other vendor products.

Monitors all network systems for potential problems. Makes recommendations for upgrades in order to support new technology or customer requests. Provides an additional level of maintenance support for all network systems and implements new network projects.

Develops and maintains relationships with network users and vendors to provide best possible solution to customer needs. Supports core network hardware and software installations and changes. Designs and supports internet content filtering solutions for customers. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge in design, management or troubleshooting of a large data network or a large wireless network. Knowledge of network monitoring tools.

Knowledge of data, voice, video, and wireless networks. Ability to communicate orally and in writing and provide assistance in resolving technical issues. Ability to read and comprehend technical documents to resolve problems.

Minimum Qualifications

The formal education of an associate's degree in information technology, computer science, systems engineering, or related field; plus two years experience in data network operations/design, or related field.
