Job Description:

  • Lead and design application infrastructure integration framework, outline best practices and standards

  • Participates in project calls and works with internal bank groups as well as LOB to gather detailed technical requirements

  • Responsible for High Level design as it pertains to application integration on Infrastructure.

  • Responsible for Low Level design (configuration details, hands on experience is required) for load balancing

  • Able to perform implementations or provide necessary details to handover to implementation team as required

  • Provides Level 3 support and direction for production related issues. Considered a SME for load balancing.

  • Responsible for documentation of end to end load balancing design

  • Establishes capacity/threshold management plan and details for Work Load Management

  • Works with external vendors (F5) for chronic issues, bugs, feature enhancements

  • Participates and provide guidance for new feature enhancements, code and certification

  • Helps with lifecycle management of load balancing product set

Required Skills

  • Being able to do Network IP Services & Design

  • Subject Matter expert with F5 products & technology ( GTM, LTM, SSL offloading etc)

  • Working knowledge of leveraging F5 devices for web acceleration & caching

  • Good overall network background with an understanding of routing & switching protocols as well as application layer protocols

  • Strong background with DNS

  • Advanced skills of designing, coding, and troubleshooting iRules and iControls

  • Strong understanding of the different load balancing options & features to include OneConnect, Persistence, SSL offload functions, HTTP profiles, etc

  • Must have strong understanding of the Global Traffic Manager and Iquery functionality between LTM & GTM for a HA design.

  • Must have a strong understanding of Web traffic load balancing function and manipulation procedures along with sizing and capacity planning based on a high availability or DR design.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Key Areas of Responsibility * Perform client consulting in the area of network engineering (hardware and software) using routers, switches, network security devices, protocol analyzers, TCP/IP, VPN, Frame Relay, and MPLS * Design, plan, and implement LANs and WANs using the latest technology * Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software technical problems related to LANs/WANs * Conduct throughput analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning * Participate in various client projects intended to continually improve/upgrade network infrastructures * Follow life-cycle oriented processes and procedures * Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems * Assist in the management of projects using CDW's project management methodology * Regularly interface with technical and business staff of customers, including the project sponsor and stakeholders of projects in more complex engagements * Serve as technical point of contact on customer engagements * Create and execute test plans to meet project requirements for assigned components * Identify and communicate potential opportunities for cross-selling to the sales team * Manage time and expense to meet or exceed expectations defined in the Statement of Work * Provide high quality content deliverables using the appropriate document templates * Ensure solution is implemented as designed to the customer's satisfaction and approval * Work with Professional Services Managers, ATAE's, Project Managers and customers to manage expectations and timelines to ensure expectations and commitments are being met * Conducts/leads design workshops for complex designs to meet customer, business and technical objectives * Proactively develops plans and activities to avoid problems * Educates the customer on solution as appropriate throughout the life of the project or service life Qualifications Minimum Qualifications * Bachelor degree in business, computer science, a related technical degree or equivalent * Five years' experience delivering complex technical solutions including planning, development, implementation and support Other Required Qualifications * Minimum of two years consulting experience * Minimum of one year experience in programming or analytical work * Experience with troubleshooting Cisco router, switch and/or virtual network configurations * Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs * Ability to effectively communicate with clients and end users * Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment. * Attention to detail on inventory and logistics is important Preferred Qualifications * Cisco UCS/Nexus experience is a plus * CCIE certification preferred CDW Richmond VA
