Network Security Lead Technical

Job Description

The Network Security Lead Technical will have the ability to lead, learn and support cutting edge technology as well as the ability to work in both an individual and global support environment. This individual will ensure and assist with the proper support and lifecycle of solutions that support information security including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, proxy servers, and other security solutions. They will identify and evaluate and implement technical security controls to continuously improve the organization's security posture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reviews and evaluates business technology needs, security, and systems requirements to decide on best course of action; develops specifications and performs development, integration, and programming activities for moderately-complex to complex cybersecurity applications, systems, and solutions
  • Researches and evaluates potential threats to assess risk and prioritize actions; develops testing plans and scripts to identify vulnerabilities and develop countermeasures
  • Conducts code, systems, and process reviews to identify areas of potential vulnerability and communicate to business and technical leaders; develops diagnostics, tools, and patches to assess and mitigate intrusions and attacks
  • Provides technical leadership and mentoring for less experienced team members on assigned projects

Job Qualifications

  • College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years work experience in security or risk management, networking, or related technology based role.
  • Moderate knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, Network layers, Ethernet, ARP, etc.)
  • Unix administration and application support in a Unix environment experience required.
  • Moderate experience with scripting (PowerShell, PERL, PYTHON, etc.)
  • Strong Firewall experience : i.e. Palo Alto
  • Certifications in area of specialty a plus. Examples include: CISSP, CSSLP, CISA, CISM, GIAC certs, CFE, CNP, CEH, etc…
  • Experience troubleshooting web traffic protocols and decryption
  • Experience with Cisco IOS. Ability to locate a host on the network for incidents or troubleshooting

The Networks Consultant will interact directly with key internal and external contacts on the deployment and rollout of network infrastructure and security related efforts. Potential candidates should have: * 'Hands-on' experience in assessing, designing, and deploying network infrastructure in environments including process automation, discrete controls, and automated manufacturing processes / equipment.  * Experience in designing and deploying network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.) within an Industrial Network * Understanding of various industry standards including ISA, ANSI, NEMA, NERC, IDC, NEC and NIST standards. Specific focus on NIST 800-82, NERC-CIP, IEC-62443 Standards would be an added benefit * Experience in PLC, Networking and SCADA design/programming including data extraction and data analysis. * Solid technical skills with various Ethernet protocols including EtherNet/IP, specifically around assessment, design and implementation of complex systems. * Strong communication skills and commercial skills, ability to handle multiple projects / interactions, and ability to interact with various global teams, clients and vendors including those in international regions. * Ability to stand up and configure firewalls from various vendors including the latest Cisco FirePower platforms * Familiarity with a variety of networking and / or security concepts, practices, and procedures, to include manufacturing and enterprise network convergence, network protocols, communication optimization, application effects on system performance and human exploitation techniques on the manufacturing network. * Experience in developing and deploying solutions in a virtual environment. * Design, implement and support key global customers' converged business and manufacturing/industrial networks and user needs in parallel with their overall business strategies. * Write detailed documentation that could include customer requirements, system specifications, observed issues with remediation recommendations or implementation plans in order to develop or modify manufacturing infrastructure. * Design, recommend, and implement network infrastructure and associated configuration changes. * Design customer secure manufacturing architectures and provide vision, problem anticipation, and problem solving ability to customers.
