The Network Security Engineer helps to design, implement and provide operational support for our global protected data networks. Responsibilities include: design and implementation of network security devices such as firewalls, VPN concentrators, reverse proxy devices, Internet Web filtering, Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems, proactive monitoring of the secured network devices; troubleshooting operational problems; coordinating problem resolution with 3rd party network providers and other IT resources; taking ownership of trouble tickets until a problem is resolved; participation on new project implementations and technology reviews.
A minimum of 10 years experience supporting IP networks with a Security Focus.
Must possess a solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, IP addressing, routing, switching and firewall technologies).
Must possess strong analytical abilities to troubleshoot firewalls, network hardware/software issues, and application level network communications.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco firewalls, routers and switches.
Strong written and oral communication skills with a customer service focus.
Ability to work independently and in a group.
The candidate should possess good documentation habits.
Availability to provide 24 X 7 on-call support on a rotational basis
Cisco Certifications in Network Security OR CCNP are desirable
Hands on experience with Palo Alto, Cisco ISE, Firepower are highly desired
