The Network Security Engineer helps to design, implement and provide operational support for our global protected data networks. Responsibilities include: design and implementation of network security devices such as firewalls, VPN concentrators, reverse proxy devices, Internet Web filtering, Intrusion Detection/Prevention systems, proactive monitoring of the secured network devices; troubleshooting operational problems; coordinating problem resolution with 3rd party network providers and other IT resources; taking ownership of trouble tickets until a problem is resolved; participation on new project implementations and technology reviews.

Job Requirements

A minimum of 10 years experience supporting IP networks with a Security Focus.

Must possess a solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, IP addressing, routing, switching and firewall technologies).

Must possess strong analytical abilities to troubleshoot firewalls, network hardware/software issues, and application level network communications.

Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco firewalls, routers and switches.

Strong written and oral communication skills with a customer service focus.

Ability to work independently and in a group.

The candidate should possess good documentation habits.

Availability to provide 24 X 7 on-call support on a rotational basis

Cisco Certifications in Network Security OR CCNP are desirable

Hands on experience with Palo Alto, Cisco ISE, Firepower are highly desired

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-06T00:00 Job Role Summary The ICSE (Industrial Control Systems Environment) Network Security Analyst, as part of IT/OT Operations has the overall responsibility for active threat hunting in the industrial control system space through the analysis of various data sources, including but not limited to SolarWinds, Network Control Point (NCP) firewall traffic, Network Behavior Analytics and Anomaly & Breach Detection systems by working with Splunk as the Security Information and Event Management tool. The Network Security Analyst will be located in The Woodlands, TX and manage the day-to-day business, including, but not limited to the following: Primary Job Functions * Monitoring firewalls and intrusion protection systems in the ICSE space * Troubleshooting any hardware/software issues with firewalls and intrusion protection systems * Monitoring Indicators of Compromise issued by CERT (Computer Emergency Readiness Teams) and programed into the SIEM tool as part of the active threat hunting activity * Design/deploy/manage network security related projects, specifically Anomaly & Breach Detection and Network Behavior Analytics * Managing cybersecurity incidents with the customer and providing recovery and restoration of the network in event of a disaster or major incident * Addressing penetration and vulnerability findings regarding network security technologies * The Network Security Analyst works under the day-to-day direction of the IT/OT Operations Manager. Job Requirements * Strong network security knowledge with emphasis on Cisco ASA, SourceFire, Cisco CSM, Cisco FMC, and Juniper SRX * 5 years minimum of network security operations experience * Strong network knowledge (Cisco/Juniper): * VPN, authentication, tunneling, ACL, vulnerability assessment, penetration analysis and intrusion detection * Cisco ASA, Cisco SourceFire, Cisco FirePower, Cisco CSM, Cisco FMC, Juniper SRX, and Juniper Space * Experience with Great Bay, ISE, Infoblox, is a plus * Ability to write Splunk queries against the various data source traffic, scanning for indicators of compromise and the creation of customized Splunk dashboards * Experience with Industrial Control Systems Environments including operational experience with DSC's, PLC's, RTU's and SCADA systems * Previously setting up a SOC (Security Operations Center) is a strong plus Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities * Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to discuss technical issues with all levels of personnel globally * Strong, self-initiative and self-motivated * Position requires working with global team outside of normal working hours * Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a diversified skill set and good decision making * Strong work ethic, interpersonal and team-building orientations * Adaptability to time pressures & changing priorities * Strong customer service skills ExxonMobil is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
