Job Description:


The team member in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests.
The Network Security Engineer is responsible for managing the operation and security of the Wide / Local Area Networking hardware and infrastructure, internet security, web content filtering and firewall access, Active Directory, IDS/IPS, VPN via IPsec and SSL, and Network Admission Control.
Experience with Cisco routing and switching is a must.
Cisco CCNA required.
CCNA Security or CCNP R&S preferred.
Experience with network design a huge plus.
This position serves as an internal Cisco, network, and security consultant to the organization and a security liaison to outside business units that the company may deal with.
Evaluates and performs R&D on new technologies, equipment, and upgrades to existing systems and recommends additions or changes as needed.
Establishes, documents and implements security policies and procedures, and provides direct training and oversight to all information security employees, contractors, alliances, or other third parties, ensuring proper information security clearance in accordance with established organizational information security policies and procedures.
Reviews all system-related security plans throughout the organization's network, and makes recommendations to mitigate risk based on vulnerabilities and threat.
Vendor Management, User Training, Project Assessment and Status Reporting also comprise primary duties.
All duties are under the supervision of the Manager of Network and Information Security.
Job Duties and

Responsibilities:

Supervised management, administration and design of WAN/LAN equipment, network, and related infrastructures.
Supervised management of VPN Equipment and related systems.
Supervised management of IPS/IDS Equipment.
Supervised management of Firewalls and Access to the network internally and externally.
Supervised management and recommended direction of the information gathering process required for the installation of a Key Business System
Creating and maintaining SOPs and Internal Controls to meet SOX/404, HIPAA and PCI initiatives and adherence to those policies.

Requirements:

Prefer a four-year degree in Management Information Systems with focus on IT security or similar Information Technology program.
Requires at least five years of Progressive Information Systems and Technology experience.
CCNA Required (CCNA Security or CCNP Preferred)

In addition to configuring and supporting network components such as firewalls, switches, load balancers, and routers, this position will implement security initiatives and standards for safeguarding data held by the company. This position will work closely with business managers (Leadership Team), the executive team (Senior Leadership Team) and Information Systems management. The Network Engineer will monitor the networks, platform systems and telephony devices, ensuring performance, capacity and security SLAs are met. You keep current on network security configurations, firewalls, and other network systems that you will implement and maintain. You will be responsible for the continuing growth of the corporate and production network environments. You will document and develop upon current network designs as well as deployment of future network infrastructure. These responsibilities include but are not limited to all VoIP communications, public circuits and systems necessary to support our communications platform. What you will do * Run all network infrastructure current and future designs * Identify protection goals, objectives and metrics consistent with corporate plans * Conduct the development and implementation of information security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure ongoing maintenance of information security and protection. Information protection responsibilities will include network security architecture, network access and monitoring policies * Prioritize security initiatives and implementation based on appropriate risk management and/or financial methodology. Advise on system security requirements and architectural designs * Conduct security-centric infrastructure components and various scanning tools. * Install, configure, run, and maintain critical enterprise firewalls, IPS, VPN and other technologies. * Work with multiple teams throughout IT on remediation activities. * Participate in Incident Response activities. * Work with outside consultants as appropriate for independent security audits, penetration tests, PCI audits, SSAE16 and customer related audits * Ensure software and hardware licensing compliance for all network equipment * Provide design, documentation, and support for all internal network communications system Your skills and experience * The IT department supports many applications and services for our customers and requires flexibility and adaptability to meet changing priorities in a professional manner. * You are an articulate and effective member of the team and who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff. * Should have experience with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management, * Experience performing security assessments * Experience with Cisco UCS and security technologies. * Experience with security and networking architecture, networking protocols, network security design, routers, wireless security, intrusion prevention/detection, firewall architecture, SIEM, encryption, investigations, forensics, and incident management response. * Advanced understanding of WAN/LAN networking technologies and multi site environments. * Experience with network monitoring, management and secure authentication protocols and tools such as TACACS+/RADIUS. * Previous history conducting or acting as a technical resource for other team members Education/Certifications * Minimum 3 years prior experience in information technology * Cisco CCNP Certified * CCIE preferred * Technical security related certifications are a plus, including Cisco's CCNP security certification or certifications from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium and/or the Global Information Assurance Certification.
