Network Performance Engineer
AMD is searching for hardworking and highly motivated experts to join our team of scientists and engineers in the development and optimization of integrated AMD CPU+GPU scale-out solutions for high performance computing and machine learning.
This position is for a Network Performance Engineer. The primary responsibility is working directly with AMD Business Units on network development and performance tuning for scale-out of AMD CPU+GPU platforms. This is a great opportunity to join the AMD team!
A computer scientist or engineer with proven development and performance experience with high-speed, low-latency, RDMA-based interconnects. Must be able to collaborate with various product teams within AMD, as well as engaging directly with customers. Debug and problem-solving skills are critical; you should enjoy solving ambiguous problems that use the depth and breadth of your technical knowledge. Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work well within a team environment.
Distributed programming software development and performance tuning for High Performance Computing (HPC) and Machine Learning (ML) application workloads
Integration of AMD CPU and GPU software stacks within network frameworks
Debugging and tuning network and middleware scale-out software stacks
Engage with AMD product groups to drive resolution of customer issues
Develop and present best practices materials for both internal and customer audiences
Deep understanding and experience tuning high-speed, low-latency, RDMA-capable interconnects
Experience with current transport frameworks, such as libfabric or UCX
Demonstrable knowledge of scale-out programming models
Proven network performance analysis and tuning skills
Excellent C/C++ programming skills
Understanding interactions and data flows between CPUs, GPUs, and I/O components
In-depth knowledge of software development practices including debug, test, revision control, documentation, and bug tracking
Experience working with open source projects
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
Work well and effectively in geographically dispersed teams
GPU programming experience a huge plus
Masters Degree in Computer Science or a related subject, or equivalent experience
At least five years of relevant industry experience preferred
