Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Installing, monitoring, commissioning, testing and maintaining of telecommunications and associated electronic equipment and wiring in both technical facilities as well as on customer property.

  • Performing highly complex technical duties and resolving difficult technical problems.

  • Assembling, installing, testing and maintaining fiber optic and Ethernet transmission equipment.

  • Maintaining new and existing circuits through troubleshooting and fault isolation techniques.

  • Coordinating the testing and turn-up of services with all involved providers.

  • Performing fiber locates, monitoring of construction activity, fiber splicing and termination.

  • Climbing ladders, working aloft, perceiving differences in wire and cable colors, distinguishing audio tones, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs.

  • Working evenings, weekends, holidays and unscheduled shifts as determined by the needs of the business.

Qualifications

You know telecommunications technology and are anxious to put your knowledge and skills to work on Verizon's network. You like to be busy and well-organized to stay on top of things. You know that the whole team needs to work together to win and you take pride in a job well done.

You'll need to have:

  • Valid state driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Even better if you have:

  • Associate degree or certification in electronics and 7+ years of job related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Previous experience testing, turning up and installing telecommunications equipment.

Salary Information

Weekly Rate: $629.00 - $1719.50

Additional Information

Work tours may vary but will typically include shifts scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with rotating 24 x 7 on call duties as well as evenings, weekends and overtime as needed by the business.

In this role, the Network Administrator will manage IT infrastructure in support of our 17,000 apartments located in fifteen states throughout the country. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology, have an interest in staying hands-on, and have experience successfully managing, maintaining, and rolling out IT infrastructure. The Network Administrator will: * Manage, support and administer all systems and infrastructure as they relate to networking, telecommunications, and security (includes both public cloud-based and local data center infrastructure). * Manage, support and ensure exceptional delivery of technology infrastructure services, including but not limited to WAN, LAN and WLAN, IP telephony, telecommunications, and networks, including firewalls, and data centers * Ensure system reliability, security control, protection of IT assets. * Develop and document best practices, standards, network diagrams and security operations. * Assist in developing the long-term IT infrastructure strategy and plans. * Administer Active Directory design, user creation and group policies. * Assist in development of on-going training opportunities (both in-person and how-to guides) for IT Infrastructure. * Develop a comprehensive plan and best practices for organizational operations as related to data processing and storage, file management, IT standards, and infrastructure usage. * Communicate regularly, effectively, and as appropriate to executives and management, peers, operations personnel, and IT.
