The Network Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining smooth operations of all Credit Union networks, systems, applications and end user systems. This position supervises the network/help desk staff providing daily direction and support to meet the operational goals. Responsible for diagnoses and resolution of complex connectivity and network issues, and monitors system security, backup, and virus protection. Evaluates, recommends, and implements network software and hardware, and assists in the development of IT strategies, policies, and DR planning. Maintains professional business relations with associates, members and outside contacts. Keeps management well informed of area activities. Supports and promotes the Credit Union's Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
Installs, configures, tests and maintains servers, SAN, and related networking equipment.
Monitors scheduled jobs and computer output for completeness, accuracy, and errors.
Performs all critical data backups and secures data according to established procedures.
Installs firmware and security updates on servers, printers, and related networking equipment.
Configures and maintains Microsoft Active Directory.
Installs, configures and maintains IPS/IDS, Firewall, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Anti-Malware, etc. for maximum internal network protection.
Maintains Unified Communications, VoIP, and any related equipment, services, and platforms.
Troubleshoots and resolves issues with ATM and related equipment, Home Branch (Internet Banking) and Mobile services.
Maintains all data used for redundancy efforts and assists with remediation efforts as result of test findings and risk assessments.
Logs all computer, terminal, and printer hardware/software problems. Calls appropriate maintenance organizations and arranges for repair. Notifies supervisor of unusual problems.
Performs software upgrades and installations.
Creates scripts for automation of common tasks.
Provides support to operational staff and other Credit Union associates as needed.
Tests and evaluates software and hardware for reliability and functionality.
Procures and implements new software and hardware systems.
Develops processes to improve network reliability and proposes solutions to meet the future needs of both the Company and clients.
Evaluates and recommends standards for hardware and software operations in all Company systems. Locates and implements new products as needs arise.
Provides suggestions in the development of IT strategies and policies.
Assists the CTOO in developing and maintaining the Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans along with maintaining the DR site and testing the plan.
Establishes work assignments to meet the needs of the department and to effectively serve associates.
Provides leadership to personnel through effective objective setting, delegation and communication. Conducts staff meetings and informs personnel of policy and procedure changes. Discusses areas needing improvement.
Ensures personnel are well trained, effective, and optimally utilized. Identifies training needs and develops appropriate training programs. Conducts training sessions and cross-trains as appropriate.
Performs performance appraisals for staff members.
Bachelor's degree in CS or CIS, or related field.
CCNA certification preferred.
MCSA certification preferred.
5 years of similar or related experience.
2 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
Equivalent work experience may be substituted for education requirement.
Demonstrated experience in Active Directory management.
Demonstrated experience in Active Directory scripting/automation.
Experience with network monitoring tools such as Nessus.
Workstation and Server patch management experience
Demonstrated professionalism and confidentiality is required.
Flexibility to work various schedules including evening or weekend hours as needed.
Ability to travel to other branches as needed.
