General Summary

Oversees the implementation and administration of the company's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VOIP, Wireless, VPN, Security, and Telephony Systems. Ensures effective utilization of network management tools and applications to enhance system performance and limit downtime. Makes recommendations for purchases of network hardware, software, servers, and communications for current and future systems. Responsible for managing a team of network engineers and technicians providing guidance, and performance feedback. Operates the department within approved cost controls.

For key positions within Capital City Bank that manage, oversee, and mitigate risk, or have direct oversight of associates whom perform these duties, training and/or certifications may be needed to ensure the bank is adhering to the best and most current information security practices.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee the design the design, deployment, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and related components.

• Foster a collaborative and motivated work environment to promote teamwork and professional growth.

• Lead troubleshooting efforts to diagnose and rectify outages and other performance related issues.

• Ensure the organization's network security by enforcing best practices for firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, server, and network infrastructure hardening based on industry standards.

• Monitor network traffic and usage patterns to forecast future network capacity needs.

• Forecasting of budgetary requirements.

• Monitoring and reporting security events to the appropriate parties.

• Ensuring the department follows documented policies and procedures.

• Monitoring unified communications performance and ensuring the technology is kept current.

• Staying abreast of security concerns and vulnerabilities to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and information.

• Continually investigates and implements ways to improve the effectiveness of network service capabilities.

• Escalates high severity issues and chronic problems to upper management.

Associated Duties

Provides additional support to manager and department colleagues.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Required

The following KSAs are usually acquired through college education with specialized emphasis in the technical sciences or management and six to eight years relevant experience or a combination of technical and management experience.

1.Three to five years management experience in network architecture and operations.

2.Cisco technical certifications such as CCNA or equivalent are a plus.

3.Experience with cloud and virtualization technologies.

4.5 -10 years' experience in technical support role with progressive responsibility.

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics. Relevant experience may substitute for the education requirement.

Working Conditions

1.Late or after-five hours sometimes required.

2.Occasional travel in and out of home area.
